The study, published in the European Heart Journal - Quality of Care and Clinical Outcomes, estimates that 69 percent of deaths from ischemic heart disease worldwide could be prevented if healthier diets were introduced. This is a larger percentage than the deaths that could be prevented if systolic blood pressure was maintained at 110–115 mmHg (54 percent) or a healthy blood LDL cholesterol level of 0.7–1.3 mmol/L (42 percent) is maintained and the glucose level remains at 4.8 -5.4 mmol / l (25 percent). Even thatQuitting smoking and passive smoking(20 percent) does not contribute as much as a suitable diet plan. Ischemic heart disease is largely preventable with healthy behaviors, and individuals should take the initiative to improve their eating habits. However, the total number of deaths doubled over the same period.
