McDonald's Germany presents its first vegan burger called “Big Vegan”. The meat substitute product “Incredible Burger” is produced by Nestlé and consists of soy, wheat, beetroot, peppers and carrots. The raw veggie burger looks like a classic beef patty. When cooked, it has a juicy, meaty texture like the “Beyond Burger” or the “Impossible Burger.” McDonald's Germany currently has a vegetarian burger made from quinoa, but it is not vegan.
From April 29th, McDonald's Germany will be launching its first vegan burger
With 17 grams of plant-based protein per patty, the “Big Vegan” contains just as much protein as the classic McDonald's burgers. The meaty-looking veggie patty is cooked separately from all other burgers to avoid contact with animal fat.
The new vegan burger is one of 200 products that McDonald's develops in Munich every year. Less than a quarter of the products end up in restaurants. “The 'Big Vegan' made it,” said a spokesman for the global company, “because it delivers the flavors that customers expect from fast food cuisine.”
McDonald's Big Vegan Burger will launch nationwide in Germany on April 29th.
