Wall-mounted toilets correspond to the latest sanitary technology and have become an integral part of modern bathroom design. Not only do they have a modern look, but they also offera lot of storage space potential. We have put together a few ideas for you on how to design and decorate the toilet wall.
The great interest in wall-mounted toilets is due to the special nature of the assembly, which opens up a wide range of design options. The hanging toilet is mounted on a metal frame that is permanently installed in a drywall and is therefore not visible. All mounting elements, including pipes and cistern, are hidden behind this wall, gaining valuable centimeters. Plasterboard panels are usually used for drywall installation, which are then tiled afterwards.

Wall-mounted toilets have many advantages and at the same time few disadvantages. However, the rather laborious installation should be mentioned as a disadvantage. Installing a wall-mounted toilet means a much larger amount of renovation or conversion work in the bathroom than if you had opted for a floor-standing toilet.

The mounting element has a certain width and height
Before you decide how you want to use the space behind the toilet, it is important to note that the concealed cistern with mounting element has a certain width and height. The width of the frame is usually 35 to about 50 cm, the height is 80 to about 120 cm and the depth is about 20 centimeters. The dimensions vary depending on the manufacturer and model. The individual elements of the wall-mounted toilets (cistern and pre-wall elements) can be purchased as a finished set or separately. For example, there are also universal toilet frames that are compatible with toilet bowls and accessories from different manufacturers.
A wall-mounted toilet is the classic among modern toilets
Of course, there are also special toilet solutions in compact designs for rooms with a complicated architecture, if the hanging toilet is to be installed on a very narrow section of the wall or even under a skylight. These mounting elements are narrower and lower than standard frames and are perfect for such applications. In small bathrooms, corner toilets are also used, which are mounted on a special corner frame.
A wall-mounted toilet is modern, space-saving and flexible
Once you know the dimensions of your toilet model, you can calculate how much space the whole thing will take up, depending on the size of the room. When cladding the concealed cistern, metal profiles and plasterboard are usually used, which can be adjusted to the desired size. Toilets are installed with a seat height of 40 cm as standard. At least 20 to 30 cm to the left and right are also required around the toilet bowl. So if your bathroom ceiling is 255 cm and your wall-mounted toilet is 120 cm high (including frame, paneling, etc.), there is a good 135 cm left that you can use.
A cupboard above the toilet creates more storage space
If you need additional storage space in the bathroom for toilet paper, towels and other bathroom utensils, you can order a cupboard with a depth of 20 cm and a width of approx. 100 cm (or depending on the width of the toilet wall). The material should be naturalWithstand water and moisture. So that the cabinet doors can be opened without handles, the cabinet base is mounted approximately 1.5 cm to 2 cm upwards.
Shelves and niches above the toilet
