- Popsicle sticks/toothpicks/shish kebab skewers/twigs

- Mason jars
- Borax
Step 1:
- Use the cleaners to form simple leaves in any shape.
- You can print out leaf shapes beforehand and use them as templates (e.g. for children).
- You can use the finished leaves as pendants or make a garland out of them.

Step 2:
Wait until the weather is right to give the leaves a layer of frost (or just get on with it).
- Tie a piece of string to each leaf and the other end around the popsicle stick.
- Prepare the borax solution. To do this, fill the jars with hot water and then with about ²⁄3 cup of borax and stir until everything or at least most of it has dissolved. However, remaining crystals do not pose a problem.
- Hang the leaves in the jars and wait. The first crystals form after about 2 hours.
- After about 5 hours, you can remove the leaves and let them dry on a surface (e.g. newspaper) overnight.
