This cool hanging decoration combines exactly these features and is the perfect last-minute craft idea for a sophisticated Halloween decoration. If you want to make the Halloween mobile, you only need a few materials. For one of these, just take a look in the fridge or pantry!
What to make the Halloween mobile out of
Only a few things are needed to make the cool mobileMaking bats:
- Egg cartons
- black acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- optional googly eyes (but you can also paint)
- Wreath to hang the bats (or other material such as a twig/branch for example)
- Yarn or ribbon
- optional small bows for decoration
How to make the bats yourself
- Cut the egg cartons: You need three connected cups (in a row) per bat. So you can make two bats from a box of 1.
- Then paint the cardboard with black paint. You can also integrate the eyes at the same time by leaving two circular areas unpainted and then adding black pupils. Allow the paint to dry.
- If you didn't just add the eyes, now is the time. Glue on googly eyes or cut out white circles from paper, add black dots and then attach them to the bat head.
- Poke two holes in the bat's head - one on the side of the face and another behind it.
- Thread yarn or ribbon from the top through one of the holes and back out through the other.
- Place the bow (if you are using one) between the two holes and tie a knot with the yarn or ribbon, enclosing the bow.
- Tie the first bat to the selected base.

How about some ghosts?
If you want, you can also add a few more to the wreath (or your chosen base).create spirits. These are just as quick and easy to make:
- any paper that can be easily crumpled
- Tissues or white tissue paper
- Band
- black marker
- Wire or toothpick
- possibly hot glue (or other liquid glue)
This is how you can make the ghosts for the Halloween mobile
- Take a piece of paper (A5 size should be sufficient; if necessary, cut an A4 sheet in half) and crumple it into a ball.
- Place this ball in the middle of a tissue.
- Gather the tissue so that you enclose the ball.
- Tie the ribbon around the tissue just below the paper ball.
- Use the marker to draw a face on the resulting head.
- You can now tie wire around the wreath and pin the ghost onto it. Toothpicks are also suitable for this purpose (for a wreath), but you will probably have to secure them with glue.
