Everyone has already seen them in American or British films: the funny Christmas crackers. What is a popular tradition, especially for Christmas and New Year's Eve, have taken over many Germans especially for New Year's Eve. You can really easily make the fun lovers known as the bright candy and put you in a good mood for your team during your party. We show some instructions with which you can make a bright candy.
Handicrafts for New Year's Eve - surprise the guests with banging crackers
We have three variants for you with which you can make bright candy. In the first you use a template for printing, the second simple toilet paper rolls and for the third fabric, for reusable bright candies. You can fill the crackers with a wide variety of things. Coats and small ones are common
Make Christmas crackers for New Year's Eve with template
By simply printing out our template and then transferring it to the box, you can make a bright and simple manner. This guide is for a non-popping model, which means that you do not need Christmas cracker strips, but simply pull the bright candy apart with someone. If you want to let it pop it, we will show you below how to incorporate the strip. You need:
- Cardboard in any color or with patterns
- Printed template
- Scissors, ruler, glue
- Band or cord
- any decorations for designing
Print out the template free of charge and cut out the dragon -shaped elements with the “X”. Then transfer the template to the desired cardboard color and cut everything out again. Then use the template to orientate yourself where you have to fold the bright candy shape, namely on the dashed lines: the normal folds down, that with the “o” upwards. You get folds by using a ruler to help.
Apply glue to the tabs provided for this purpose (K) and glue the candy together. Tie the cracker on one side and fill it with any things. Then tie the other side too. If you want, you can now design it from the outside - with glittering stones, stickers, something painted or label, for example.
Crafts with cardboard rolls
Another option is the useseveral toilet paper rollsOr kitchen paper rolls. This variant works even faster and can also be made with bang strips and without it. As follows, they proceed:
- Papper rollers (a kitchen paper roll or two to three toilet paper rolls per bright candy)
- Teiling paper, bread pack paper, wrapping paper or crepe paper
- Cord or band
- Glue, scissors
A notice:If you work with wrapping paper, remember that it is very thin and tears quickly. So if you tie it together at the ends later, you shouldn't pull the cord too tight. Seat paper and crepe paper are therefore the better choice if necessary. For example, golden crepe paper wouldFit perfectly with New Year's Eve!
You can choose different arrangements if you have chosen roles. Either way, they need three sections so that the DIY Christmas Cracker can really be pulled apart afterwards. So if you use a kitchen paper roll, cut them into three pieces. You can also use a single toilet roll for smaller bright candies.
Place the roles on the selected paper and cut it large enough so that it fits the roles and forms a surplus to stick together. You should also pay attention to the correct length. The paper has to survive something in order to be able to tie it together.
Then stick the rollers at the outermost edge of the paper. Roll up with the paper and also stick the outer edge on the cardboard rolls. With the band or cord you then tie the protruding paper together at one of the two ends of the roles, fill the roll with any gifts and also tie the other side.
Tinker bright candy - sustainable from fabric or felt
As with paper for the cardboard roll variant, cut a sufficiently large piece of fabric here. Think of the seam allowance to be able to sew the hem. About 0.5 additional centimeters should be sufficient for this. So sew a hem all around so that the fabric does not fray and then proceed as with the second instruction. Sewing is unnecessary for felt.
If you tinker with a bright candy, it is not like a classic about tearing it off. Rather, it serves as an interesting packaging forSmall guest giftsthat is then only tied up. The advantage is that you can reuse the fabrics in the coming year so that you can do something really sustainable for New Year's Eve.
Incorporate Christmas cracker strips
If you want it to slamme nicely when pulling (only possible with the paper variants), you can incorporate a blast strip into the New Year's Eve cracker. For this purpose, always put it lengthways in the cracker. The ends of the strip have to go beyond the bound areas so that they can be grasped later and the bright candy can pull apart together with the strip. This tear then causes the bang.
For the model with the template, this means the following:
If you make a bright candy out of cardboard rolls, do not put the bang strip into the roll, but outside, i.e. between the roller and the paper. Start rolling up the cardboard rolls in the paper and if you arrive, for example, in the middle of the paper, add the blast strip before you wrap everything completely:
