For this carnival, we just say “relax” and have fun unleashing your inner princess. You're never too old, are you? In this article you will find step-by-step instructions on how to dress up as the “Frozen” Princess Elsa. This is guaranteed to make you the star of the carnival party (or at least your six-year-old niece's favorite aunt). But the best part is that each of these makeup tips works just as well in real life as they do in the fantasy world.
To appear as a princess this carnival, follow these instructions:
Step 1: Start with the base
First, color your lashes (a princess always needs extra curled lashes) and then apply black liquid eyeliner to your upper lash line. Since you will have false eyelashes, the liner doesn't have to be perfect. It just serves to add a touch of color and dimension. The liner also gives you a little more freedom when applying your false eyelashes. If you place the false eyelashes a little higher, you won't see any space between your eyelash and the false eyelash. Next, use a flat brush or your finger to apply cream foundation to your entire lid.
Step 2: Make up Elsa – apply eyeshadow
Use a soft brush to apply a purple pigment shadow all over your lid. Then apply a darker or lighter purple eyeshadow in the corners only. Then apply orange eyeshadow over the purple along the crease and just below the brow bone. The great thing about orange and purple is that not only do they look cool, but they also neutralize each other and create a brown.
The eyelash line:Take the purple eyeshadow that you used on the outer corners of your lid and apply it underneath the eye on the lower lash line. Then trace your waterline with a black eyeliner pencil. Take white eyeshadow and apply it to the inner corners of your eyes to brighten them.
Step 3: Primer and Highlighter
The face:Apply a primer of your choice all over your face as usual. Next, use a brush to apply pink powder blush to your apples of the cheeks and sweep it up to your hairline.
The highlighter:Highlight your cheeks by dabbing the cream base you used to prep your eyelids with your finger at the level of your cheekbones to ensure the makeup stays on well. Then take the white eyeshadow that you applied in the inner corners of your eyes and apply it on top as a highlighter using a brush.
Step 4: Put on the false eyelashes and shape the lips
Now it's time for your false eyelashes. Open your glue and let it set for a bit before applying. The drier it is, the stickier it will be and the more likely it is to stick and hold. If you already have long eyelashes, consider using half an eyelash. If your eyelashes are shorter, opt for a full lash. Press the lash into the lash line, hold it for a few seconds, then let it rest and reapply the mascara.
The lips:Line your lips with pink lipstick, penetrating the lips a little to give them a stain. Then wear pink lipstick.
Step 5: Make up Elsa - paint on the freckles
Now you should paint on the freckles. The trick to making them look natural is to use different shades of liner. Start by applying on the nose and work your way to the cheeks. Make sure the freckles have different shapes and are arranged randomly rather than in a pattern.

Make-up as a princess for carnival – the final touches
Next, dab lip gloss onto your lips to give them a little extra dimension and shine. Concentrate the color in the center of the mouth to make your bottom lip appear fuller. You're a princess now, so you have to have the perfect kissable lips too.
Now it's time to get back to your lashes. Start with the bottom lashes and try to get as little mascara on the wand as possible. Hold it flush to the base of your lashes and wiggle it downward to avoid clumps. Then turn to the top lash and blend the false lash with your natural lashes with a few strokes.
Der Look: Your Elsa makeup is ready and now it's time for your royal debut at the carnival party!
