Queen of Hearts Make-up for Halloween – A simple guide with make-up

Halloween is all about choosing the right costume. In order for you to be able to put yourself in the role, the right make-up helps. If you have not yet presented yourself in a Queen of Hearts make-up, you will find great ideas for make-up and a craft idea for accessories (the crown) here. With a few exceptions, the vast majority of desirable Queens of Hearts base their view on the Evil Queen from Alice in Wonderland. The book character was first introduced in 1865 in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, now ubiquitously known as Alice in Wonderland. The English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson published the novel at the time under the now well-known pseudonym Lewis Carroll.

Dress up as the Queen of Hearts

While many young and some older girls identify with Alice, the Queen of Hearts' mannerisms and disposition make her one of the most memorable characters in history and a fun costume for Halloween parties. As mentioned before, most people use the mean Queen of Hearts as inspiration for their Halloween costume.

Others, however, base their look on the drawing of the queen of hearts in a deck of cards, which results in a very different costume. So in this post we will focus on the variant from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. It's by far the more popular of the two and is fun to slip into the eccentric Queen of Hearts makeup and dress up like one.

Makeup instructions

Unique details include the beautiful blue around the eyes and the cute little heart on the lips. The way you can apply the lipstick is very creative and at the same time easy even for the inexperienced. It is precisely the red heart shape that stands out the most as a creative highlight of the makeup. As for the face, you can create a geisha look with the white base, as well as a very light touch of red on the cheeks.

So first smear your entire face with white make-up paint by spreading it evenly with make-up sponges. After that, paint your eyebrows and apply blue paint over them.

Next, draw the additional black eyebrows that are typical of the Queen of Hearts makeup with black. Then outline the lower eyelid and emphasize the eyelashes again with black color.

You can achieve the special heart shape on the lips by using lipstick or red color in the form of fake blood or other make-up paint.

Following is the essential small and black birthmark under one of the eyes, which you can paint with a brush. Additionally, you can also draw small hearts with red on your face.

You can make the crown for the Queen of Hearts make-up by cutting out the shape from a yellow sheet of cardboard. Try to get straight lines and points.

Cut the “gems” for the crown out of red cardboard in the shape of two red circles and a diamond-shaped piece. Then glue the additional elements onto the crown.

Connect the two ends using the tape. Put on the crown and immerse yourself in the world of magical power!
