Necessary materials:

Craft instructions:

1. Find the center of the Styrofoam ball and measure 2.5 cm up and down. Mark these dimensions with a dotted line around the Styrofoam ball. Then use a knife to cut off the marked details.

2. Paint the Styrofoam ball orange and let the paint dry.

3. If sharp edges appear when cutting off the two details, you can sand them with sandpaper.

4. Cut out an orange felt sheet in a circle shape with a diameter of 10 cm. Use this to cover the Styrofoam ball.

5. Tie the felt ball around with the sewing thread.

6. Cut out a 3 cm wide and 10 cm long strip from the green felt and roll it up. Glue on top.

Autumn decoration with boxwood made of paper

For the next craft idea you need a polystyrene ball with a diameter of 40 cm and one with a diameter of 30 cm, a shish kebab skewer, green acrylic paint, crepe paper in light, grass and dark green, and a plant pot. You will also need the following accessories: fineliner, scissors, brush, glue. First, create a template for the boxwood leaves, then cut out enough leaves and attach them to the two Styrofoam balls. Paint the shish kebab skewer green and insert it through the center of the Styrofoam balls.

You can also make a hydrangea out of cardboard and half of a Styrofoam ball. Simply cut out the hydrangea leaves from pink, nude, orange and purple cardboard and glue them onto the Styrofoam ball. You can make the flower petals out of green clay cardboard. Make a vase out of nature-themed cardboard to display the hydrangea. This decoration can be easily combined with modern paper decorations. Summer is over. But you can still bring a summer flair into your own four walls. Make felt flowers in yellow, purple, violet, pink, blue and red to transition from summer to fall decorations. Cut out a green leaf from scraps of fabric and insert a tree branch about 5 cm deep into the Styrofoam ball. You can also make the hole for the branch yourself using an apple corer.

Autumn decorations made from natural materials: make a moss ball

Tree bark, cones and a ball of moss form an attractive arrangement. The natural materials can be presented effectively both in tall glasses and under glass hoods. So that you can make the moss balls yourself, all you need is glue and moss. First, divide the moss into several pieces and spread the glue on the Styrofoam ball. Then place the moss on top piece by piece and press it down well with your fingers. Continue until you have completely covered the Styrofoam ball with moss. Optionally, you can drill a hole through the ball with a drill or apple corer, fill it with water and place fresh autumn flowers in the “vase”.

Make pumpkins out of knitting yarn

You can make charming decorative pumpkins from Styrofoam balls, twigs and knitting yarn. Arranged in a rustic bowl made of untreated wood, they give the purist or Scandinavian interior an extra touch. Simply cut a standing surface out of the Styrofoam ball and drill a hole through the middle. Wrap the yarn through the hole as shown in the photo instructions, cut a tree branch and insert it into the hole. The decorative pumpkin is ready!

Another variant is to process the dried wool with a felting needle and wrap it around the Styrofoam ball. You can then shape the other details precisely. You can also add chestnuts, autumn leaves, cones or other natural materials of your choice.

You can also make animal figures out of felt. However, this requires a certain amount of experience and skill. Since dry felting involves compacting the wool fibers with a special felting needle, you should be very careful. Otherwise there is a risk that you will sting yourself with it. First, shape the fox's body out of wool. The details such as ears, tail and nose are designed with wool in contrasting colors, two black glass beads serve as eyes. And so the cute animal figure is ready in no time.
