Materials:
- Balloons
- Push pins
- Blunt needle with a large eye
- Colorful yarn
- Small bucket
- Scissors
- Paste made from 1 part glue + 1 part water
- Tissue hardening spray
- Decorative yarn (optional)
- False moss (optional)
- Rabbit figure (optional)
- plastic egg (optional)
Step 1:Inflate a large balloon to form the bottom of your DIY Easter basket. Tie the balloon and set it aside.
Step 2:Add glue to the string. Place the spool with the colored string in a bucket. Fill the small bucket halfway with the paste and water mixture. Allow the thread to soak in the solution for a few minutes. The coated thread holds the shape of the basket.
Step 3:Wrap the balloon. Tie the string soaked with the glue and water paste to the balloon string. Start by wrapping the colored string around the balloon to create an egg-shaped bottom.
This step is a great way to get your kids involved in the craft. Your hands might get a little dirty, but it's definitely worth it!
Wrap the balloon with string. Wrap the string around and over the balloon until it looks like a spider web. The more you cross the strands, the better, because this creates the structure of the basket.
Step 4:Spray! Spray the string-wrapped balloon evenly with tissue enhancer. This will keep the string in place if you pop the balloon later. Allow the balloon and string to dry for 24 hours.
Step 5:Pop the balloon! Poke the balloon with a toothpick and let the air escape from the balloon. You may need to pop the balloon in two different places to get the air out of the balloon more quickly.
Step 6:Cutting the Basket Cut a hole in the oval-shaped basket. This is the opening of the basket where you can place your Easter decorations. Then take the leftover balloon scraps from inside the basket.
Step 7:Decorate and personalize your basket! Fill itwith artificial mossor grass. Decorate the inside and outside of the basket as you wish.
