Make your own wooden bunnies
Wood is a natural material that is also ideal for outdoor use. We'll soon show you lots of ideas on how you can make beautiful outdoor decorations yourself. You need the right tool for all craft instructions: a scroll saw or a jigsaw so that you can precisely cut out the details from wood. The two devices differ significantly from each other: the scroll saw is stationary on the workbench and the piece of wood is guided freely on it. With a jigsaw, on the other hand, the piece of wood is attached to the workbench and the device is freely guided. Of course, you can decide for yourself which one is right for you. When working with a scroll saw, you should make a template in advance and trace it onto the wood. If you decide to use the jigsaw, you can also run it along the template. We have prepared numerous craft ideas with different levels of difficulty and we will start with the easiest and fastest. Now we'll show you how you can make wooden bunnies yourself.
Instructions
For the wood project you will need the following materials:
- 1 piece of wood with dimensions: 50 cm X 15 cm
- 1 piece of wood measuring 30 cm X 15 cm
- Weather protection paint for wood (optional)
- Paint colors for wood from the craft shop
- An Easter bunny template
- Decorative ribbons in blue and pink
- Jigsaw (or scroll saw
Here's how to do it: First, create a template and transfer it to the pieces of wood. Then cut them into the shape you want and paint them. If desired, you can first treat the wood with weatherproof paint. Then decorate the wooden bunnies with colorful decorative ribbons and display them in the garden. They look particularly good in the flower bed along the garden path.
With a little skill you can also cut out other rabbit shapes. You can find special craft paints for wood in stores. If you don't want to paint the wooden rabbits on both sides, you can cover the untreated areas with special varnish that will protect them from snow, rain and moisture. You can then paint the details with special felt-tip pens. Leave the wooden figures at room temperature for 1-2 days. When the paint has dried, you can use it in the garden.
