The Easter bunny will soon come up - and colorful eggs and small surprises hide everywhere. But do you know who likes to slip out of the egg at Easter? Exactly: a cute little chick! We will show you three great handicraft ideas where you can design your own paper chicks. So, grab scissors, glue and a little imagination - and off we go with the Easter crafting fun!
DIY Easter card with broken egg and chick
Imagine a small chick slips out of an egg - with this idea you can break up an egg and "hide" your chick in it!
Materials:
- White folding card or construction paper for folding
- Templates for chicks and egg
- Water paints or finger colors
- Cotton swabs, sponges or fingers to wipe
- Scissors
- Glue
- Felt -tip pencils
- Cutter
This is how it works:
- Print out the egg template on white paper and cut it out.
- Place the egg on the folding card.
- Duck colored dots on both halves of the egg with color. Slide the points with a cotton swab, your finger or a soft sponge slightly outwards. This creates a nice, colorful wiping effect!
- Paint a jagged line across the egg on the front of the card - this will be the break.
- Just cut it in with a cutter along the zigzag line.
- Print the chick template and cut it out. Paint the chick with felt pens or colors.
- Push the chick into the broken egg.
- Write a nice Easter greeting, e.g. B. "Happy Easter!" or "a chick-grown just for you!"

DIY chicks made of handprint
You can make a cute chick by printing your hand on paper! It will not only be a great work of art, but also a special spring greeting.
Materials
- Yellow construction paper (for the chick)
- Oranges construction paper (for beak & feet)
- Wobble
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil
Instructions
- Place your hand (or that of a child) on the yellow construction paper and trace the outline with a pencil.
- Cut out the handprint - this will be the body of the chick. The fingers represent the "fluff feathers".
- Cut a small triangle out of the orange paper and fold it in the middle - that's the beak. Glue it in the middle on the hand surface of the chick.
- Glue two wobble eyes over the beak.
- Cut two small feet out of orange paper and glue them to the handprint at the bottom.
- (Optional) You can glue additional springs, glitter or small paper eggs if you like.
Tinker chicks with circular bodies
Round like an egg and super fluffy - the last chick is created from a simple paper circle! With eyes, beak and little feet, it becomes a happy Easter friend in no time.
Materials
- Yellow construction paper (for the body and wing)
- Oranges construction paper (for beak & feet)
- White and black paper (for the eyes - alternatively: wobble eyes)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Circle or round object to trace
Instructions
- Draw a circle (approx. 10–15 cm in diameter) on yellow paper and cut it out - this is the body of the chick.
- Cut two small circles made of white paper for the eyes, and two smaller blacks or blue dots for the pupils. Glue everything together - or just take shaky eyes.
- Cut out a small orange triangle, fold it in the middle and stick it under the eyes.
- Cut two small chicken feet made of orange paper and glue them to the circle below.
- Cut two small wings out of yellow paper (e.g. crescent -shaped) and glue them on the side.
- If you want, you can add "head springs" from colorful paper or real craft springs on the top of the head.
