Upcycle and reuse empty, small or large tin cans to create a stunning Christmas Advent candle holder.
What you need
- 4 tin cans (alternatively one large can)
- 4 stick candles
- Spray paint of your choice – for example white or red
- Floral foam (or sugar, rice)
- Craft wire (optional)
- Various decorations of your choice to make the tin cans Christmassy - for example pine branches, moss for crafts, small pine cones, dry citrus fruits, nuts, satin ribbon, stickers, etc.

Making an Advent wreath out of cans – instructions
1. Prepare the cans: Remove the paper from the can before you begin. Make sure all label residue is removed before cleaning the cans.
2. Then you can color the tin cans as desired with the spray paint:Shake the spray can vigorously for a minute. For optimal performance and final result, it is crucial to mix the paint thoroughly. Spray the can with a thin layer of paint from a distance of 20 - 25 cm. After a short time, repeat the process. After spraying the can, be careful not to scratch it.
3. Attach sticker:Before applying the stickers, wait for the paint to dry completely. Place a number sticker on each tin can and press firmly.
