Figures and arrangements that you simply set up are not worth any major consideration. However, when it comes to hanging decorations on the wall, window, door or railing, try to get creative; after all, you don't want to be left with holes from drilling and nailing after the Christmas season. How could you hang a garland without nails?

Various hooks as basic tools

You may have already guessed: Adhesive hooks are ideal for securing hanging decorations to vertical surfaces. Nowadays there are enough models that not only stick reliably, but also leave no residue when you take them off again after the parties.

You need a hook for the middle section of the Christmas garland and use this to start decorating. Then attach two more hooks at a certain distance to both sides. While you don't need to skimp on the number of adhesive hooks, keep in mind that they usually hang loosely. If the hooks are too close together and too many in number, this effect will be limited.

In principle, you can use such hooks for any surface: door andWindow frames in the kitchen etc., wooden and metal railings, glass panes and mirrors and also for smooth walls.

Hooks for clamping to boards

For protruding boards such as on the mantel or windowsill, for example, you can also use hooks that work like lifting rings. They are screwed onto the board without drilling through it and can be easily removed later.

If the surface allows it, you can also use cable ties for your purposes. That's what we meanfor example balcony– or stair railings. Although you can simply wrap Christmas garland around the railing, some people prefer it to hang loosely on the side.

In this case, you might consider cable ties to conveniently tie the garland around the railing. It's best to get some in a matching color so that they don't stand out. Here, too, you can first attach a hook for the middle of the garland and then gradually fix the rest with the cable ties or you can just work with the latter.

You can also use transparent thread to tie it up. It is robust, reliable and can be used well

As you know, LED fairy lights or normal ones made of wire can be shaped and can be used toGarland around railingsand tie curtain rods or even let them hang down. Wrap them around the railing and garland at the same time, or first around the Christmas garland if you want to hang it vertically. The end is then used for tying.

A notice:This variant should be chosen for smaller and light garland models, at least if you want them to hang freely, as this can add up to a lot of weight.

You can also use florist wire or alternatively craft wire in the same way. This is also very thin and can be easily bent and shaped. They can usually be easily cut with regular scissors, so you don't even need pliers.

Use storage areas or ledges

It doesn't always have to hang directly, does it? Take a look around and see if you can use one or two shelves or other areaslike the mantelor the window sill and perhaps horizontal bars. You can place the Christmas garlands on it as the foreground and place any other decorations behind it.
