Make Christmas balls with sweets as a gift for those with a sweet tooth

Giving away Christmas tree decorations has already become a tradition for some people. It's an easy way toTo surprise friends or work colleaguesand to put you in the Christmas spirit. These wonderful Christmas balls can not only be hung on the Christmas tree, but you can also snack on them! And what's even better: they're super easy and quick to make.

What you need:

  • Styrofoam ball with a diameter of 7 or 10 cm
  • Ferrero Rocher Confectionery
  • Tinsel garland
  • toothpick
  • Glue

*To really show off the golden candies, it's best to use a garland in a contrasting color.

  1. Carefully insert the toothpicks into the Styrofoam ball and place the crunchy nut pralines on top. Leave some space between the chocolates and distribute the toothpicks so that the Christmas ball looks beautiful from all sides.
  2. Now fill the gaps between the delicacies with the tinsel garland. You can attach the beginning and end of the garland to the ball with glue. This creates a fluffy, sweet Christmas ball!

Another variant of the Christmas ball

A nice alternative to tinsel garland is organza. The elegant decorative fabric can usually be found in shops for floristry and decorative supplies. Cut it into 6 x 6 cm squares. You need two pieces per praline. Place the two squares on top of each other and glue a praline in the middle with hot glue. To prevent the chocolate icing from melting, you can put the candy in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours in advance. You can also use double-sided tape, but hot glue is quicker.

If you want to hang the ball, you should first make a loop out of decorative ribbon. Use the scissors to make a hole about 1 cm deep in the Styrofoam ball, add a dab of hot glue and press the ribbon in with the tip of the scissors.

Now stick all the prepared candies onto the ball. Start around the top of the riser loop and glue the three candies (as shown in the photo) and then continue downward. Gradually glue all the candies so that the entire surface of the ball is covered. Last but not least, decorate the Christmas ball with decorations of your choice.

Make Christmas balls out of lollipops for children

It is not at all difficult to make such a Christmas ball from Chupa-Chups to the delight of children. The lollipops are popular with young and old because of their bright colors and fruity taste.

You need:

  • Floral foam bricks
  • Chupa Chups or other lollipops with a stick
  • Colorful aluminum foil for crafts
  • aluminum wire
  • Scissors
  • Cuttermesser
  • a few spruce branches, fresh or artificial
  • Organza ribbon in white
  • Efeunadeln / Floristennadeln in U-Form

*A floral foam brick is shown in the picture instructions. There are now ready-made floral foam balls in different sizes on the market.

  1. First, use a craft knife to cut the floral foam brick into a ball shape. It is advisable to form small balls so that they do not become too heavy.
  2. Wrap each lollipop with a piece of colored foil and press the wrapper tightly around the plastic stick.
  3. Next, make a hanging loop. Bend a piece of wire in half and push it through the ball. Bend the ends on the other side up to secure the wire.
  4. Now you can start sticking the lollipops into the floral foam. Start from the top and do this in rows so that there are no gaps between the lollipops.
  5. To hide the wire loop, use some spruce branches.
  6. Finally, thread an organza ribbon through the loop and tie a nice bow.
  7. Keep in mind that this floral foam and candy Christmas ball will be quite heavy, so hang it on a very strong branch of the Christmas tree.

Can you also use a Styrofoam ball?

Instead of floral foam, you can of course also use a Styrofoam ball. However, if you want to conceal the white Styrofoam, it is best to first paint the ball with green acrylic paint.
