Olive tree in the garden in the middle of a modern villa on Pag island, Croatia

The LOG-URBUS architectural firm recently designed a modern villa on the island of Pag in Croatia. The straight architecture of the house contrasts with the hilly terrain and at the same time incorporates the Mediterranean character of the landscape. Floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors that lead to terraces and living levels, an outdoor pool and an olive tree in the garden in the middle of the living room are just some of the highlights the house has to offer.

A modern villa in Croatia impresses with many highlights

Diemodern Villais located directly on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, on the island of Pag and offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean. When designing both the exterior and interior, the architects made the most of this unique location. The house and the outdoor area run over several levels in which different zones are designed. Outdoor pool with wooden deck, gravel garden, lawns, covered terrace are just the few highlights that can be seen from the outside. Inside the house is perhaps the biggest eye-catcher of this modern Mediterranean villa, namely an olive tree in the garden in the middle of the house.

Mediterranean character reinterpreted: olive tree in the garden in the middle of the house

The ancient olive tree in the garden right inside the house is actually the “heart” of the home. It has floor-to-ceiling transparent patio doors on all sides so that the residents can enjoy the tree at any time. From above, the small inner garden is left completely open so that the tree can get light and fresh air.

The outside walls of the house are made almost entirely of glass and bring the landscape into the house. This means that house life is directed outward and inward at the same time. Flexible panels made of wooden slats ensure privacy and privacy and can enclose all floor-to-ceiling windows and even the entire house as desired.

The rooms are simple, minimalist and predominantly designed in bright white. The minimalist furnishings do not make the interior appear sterile. The varied outdoor coverings made possible by the floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors enliven and enchant the areas. The modern kitchen even has a colorful accent - the kitchen island in fresh green.
