In addition to all the small garden tools that are actually relatively easy to store, there are also the larger devices that make the whole thing more difficult. This also includes the lawn mower - a garden helper that no garden is missing (unless you own a robotic lawnmower), but also wants to stay dry when it is not in use.
Most of the time it sits on the floor in a corner somewhere in the shed, garden shed or garage, but this is not always the cheapest option if you want to save space and keep the other devices easily accessible. How could you store the lawnmower to save space?
Under a work table or shelf
In sheds or garages you often have a table for working or shelves on which smaller devices, flower pots and the like are stored. The area between the floor and the first shelf can be ideally used for the lawn mower if the distance is large enough. Of course, it would also be practical if the handle of the device could be folded down, otherwise it would get in the way.
The area under furniture like this is perfect if you want to store a lawn mower to save space because it won't be walked on anyway, so you can easily access all the other garden tools.
You can also do it like in this video. The owner has equipped a small platform with drawer pull-outs and can therefore move the lawn mower under a worktop without much effort. The whole thing is then closed with a wooden panel and everything is transformed into a cupboard. You could also build a folding door or simply hang a curtain in front of it so that you don't have to carry the heavy wooden panel back and forth.
Store the lawnmower on the wall to save space
This variant can only be implemented to a limited extent because it depends on how much power and what type of lawn mower you have. Older models and those with petrol engines are quite heavy and trailering is not necessarily possible. Electrical devices, however, are relatively light these days. Attach hooks or simple bolts to hang the lawnmower handle on.
For this idea, there are also special wall plates with integrated cutouts into which you can insert designated hooks and shelf brackets. The panels are simply screwed onto the walls and can then be equipped with other accessories so that you can alsoplan for all the other garden toolscan.
Build a separate mini shed
Don't you want to fill the already cramped garage or garden shed with such a large device? If you are handy, you can also build a small shed instead. This can be located right next to the house, garden shed or on a wall, but can also be free standing - depending on where it suits you best. You can also get one specifically for your needsMake mini shedslet. There are companies that build such storage space custom-made from different materials. In the end, you have your mower well stowed away and all the rest of your garden tools have their place too.
Build a raised platform
Practical and not a problem for hobby craftsmen, such an elevation with a ramp for pushing the lawn mower up and down is a practical idea. You decide how high you build the platform. But remember that the height also affects how difficult or easy it is for you to get the lawnmower up and down. The ramp should not be built too steep either.
While you're planning, also think about whether and what you want to store underneath. Chainsaws or leaf vacuums are one option. But also boxes in which youStore hand tools for the garden, can be stored there to save space and neatly.
