We'll show you some ideas on how to effectively present fruit skewers for children and whet the little ones' appetites.
Healthy and delicious fruit skewers
End the summer with an imaginatively prepared oneFruit salad made from seasonal fruitsfade out. Melon, watermelon, strawberries, apples and mint form a tasty combination that the children are sure to like. You will also need the following accessories to prepare the fruit skewers for children:
- Depending on how large and heavy the individual pieces of fruit are, you can buy wooden sticks, toothpicks or wooden grill skewers.
- Melon baller or ice cream scoop for the watermelon balls.
- Wave cutter or disc cutter for the “petals” of melon and apple.
- Flower cookie cutter, sharp knife.
And this is how a bouquet of fruit is made: First cut the watermelon in half and remove the seeds. Use the ice cream scoop or baller to carefully scoop out the watermelon. Then cut the other half into slices, remove the seeds and cut out “flowers” using the cookie cutter. Also cut the melon into slices using the serrated cutter or slicerCut out leaf-shaped pieces. Cut out several “flowers” from the melon. Cut the green apple into thin slices. Now carefully skewer the fruit and arrange it in a watering can or vase with mint leaves at the children's table.
A much easier alternative for beginners - ripe watermelons and blueberries make a tasty and aromatic combination. Simply cut the watermelon in half first, and then into slices. Carefully core the slices and cut out star shapes. Skewer a piece of watermelon and two blueberries and serve in a plate. Our tips: Leave the watermelon in the fridge for 15-20 minutes and only then skewer it.
