Methods for folding a towel
Here we show the most popular ways to fold a towel. It's not difficult at all and folding can be fun! Let's go!
Learn classic folding technique
This technique ensures clean edges, making it ideal for a stack of towels stored on an open shelf.
- First, spread your cloth out on a flat surface. Fold one long end toward the middle. Repeat the process on the other side.
- Then fold each short end toward the center. Make sure there is a gap where the ends meet. This leaves room for another fold.
- Finally, pick up one end and fold it over the other, creating a nicely folded towel. Smooth the surface and you're done!
Fold towels: Tri-fold method
This folding can be done on a flat surface or while standing.
- Working with the finished side of the towel down, fold one corner of the narrow end of the towel over about two-thirds of the width.
- Fold the cloth lengthwise and make sure the widthequal to the foldremains.
- Fold the remaining third of the cloth over the folded portion. You now have a long, three-layer towel strip.
- Fold the strip in half lengthwise, flatten it, then fold it in half again to create a compact, stackable towel bundle.
Fold towels to save space
If your storage space is very tight, the narrow fold works well.
- Starting at the narrow end, fold the towel in half lengthwise. Make a bend and make sure all corners are aligned.
- Fold the cloth in the middle of the rectangle. Align all four corners of the fabric.
- To make a narrow package, fold the rectangle into three parts starting at the narrow end. Place it on the shelf with the edges facing down.
The Deep-Fold Method
- Place the cloth on a flat surface, finished side down.
- Fold one side of the cloth from the long side to the middle of the narrow end and make a fold along the entire length, keeping the width of the fold even.
- Take the other long side of the toweland foldthem to the center line of the narrow end. Make a fold along the length. Now there are two long parallel folds with edges that meet in the middle of the shawl.
- Fold the cloth in half lengthwise so that the raw edges are in the middle. There are now four layers of towel in a long, thin shape.
- Fold each narrow end of the cloth toward the center of the strip. Leave a space of about one to two centimeters between folds so that the final fold is easy to make.
- Fold the two halves of the cloth together with a final fold. This way you get a neat towel package with no raw edges showing.
Towel bar folding method
This is a classic technique that is best suited for folding bath towels to hang. It leaves towels easily accessible so you can quickly grab them and drape them over a towel bar in a single, smooth motion.
- Fold your bath towel into three pieces lengthwise.
- Fold it in half and bring the short end to the middle.
Try the spa-style rolling method
For a luxurious touch, display your towels in a spa-inspired rolled arrangement. This space-saving technique keeps the cloths close together, so they work well in baskets or open compartments.
- Lay the towel out on a flat surface.Folda corner diagonally towards the center so that the short side matches the long side of the cloth and creates a point at one end.
- Fold the cloth in half lengthwise, then turn it over so the folded edge is on the bottom.
- Roll the cloth up tightly, starting at the short side opposite the tip. When you reach the end, insert the tip into the roll to hold the towel securely.
