Admittedly, cleaning the toilet isn't necessarily fun. Limescale and urine scale often collect in hard-to-reach places and then even weekly cleaning becomes a challenge. With the next home remedy you can save yourself the trouble of scrubbing. Because today we will explain to you how you can make bubbling toilet tabs yourself and remove the annoying deposits quickly and easily. Of course we offer a recipe for tabs without chemicals.

Make toilet tabs yourself and clean the toilet bowl

Nobody wants a long and tedious cleaning routine. Especially when it comes to the toilet, everyone wants an effective home remedy that removes limescale and urine scale from the toilet seat. The next toilet cleaner recipewithout chemicalscan help with that. It is best to use the tabs once a week to remove limescale and urine scale. As with all other means, the rule of thumb applies in this case: If you clean your toilet seat regularly, you can save yourself a lot of effort.

The application is incredibly simple. You just need to put a tab in the toilet bowl, it will fizz and then dissolve. Only then can you use the brush to wipe away the deposits, both above and below the water, for several seconds and flush the toilet. If you clean the toilet with it once a week, it will be really quick. The only thing you absolutely have to take into account: never rinse off the tabs that are still bubbling.

Another trick: after use, attach the brush between the toilet seat and the toilet bowl so that the water can drip off.

Another advantage of the tabs is that you can store them for a longer period of time. So you always have them with you when you need them.

The toilet tabs are also ideal for households with children, as the little ones like them very much.

What can the home remedy remove?

You can use the toilet tabs for the toilet bowl or other ceramic surfaces. They can help with the weekly cleaning routine as well as with heavy dirt. For example:

  • Remove limescale deposits under the toilet rim
  • Remove limescale deposits in the water and in the pipe
  • Remove urine stone from the toilet bowl
  • They even prove to be helpful for rust stains or other brown deposits.

Where should you not use the tabs:

  • Under no circumstances should you release the tabs into the cistern.
  • Please do not use it to clean the toilet seat.

The ingredients for the toilet cleaner

In principle, toilet tabs are made in a similar way to bath bombs. They also contain lemon oil as it not only has a fresh aroma but also disinfects. But you can also use other fragrance oils of your choice. The combination of cinnamon and cloves is also very suitable. A mixture of lemongrass, lavender, rosemary and tea tree oil can successfully remove odors.

Ingredients:

  • 256 g Backsoda
  • 128 g citric acid, powder
  • 128 g arrowroot flour or starch
  • 3 to 4 tsp distilled water
  • a small spray bottle
  • Fragrance oils of your choice
  • Silicone mold (baking mold made of silicone)

Make your own toilet tabs: step-by-step instructions

Step 1.Place all dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Fill the water into the spray bottle and add 20 to 30 drops of fragrance oils of your choice. Shake the spray bottle vigorously.

Step 2.Very slowly, stirring constantly, spray the dry ingredients with the water-fragrance oil mix. If the mixture starts to bubble, then you have added too much water. If the consistency of the mixture resembles a snowball, then you can continue.

Tipp:Mix the ingredients in a dry, low humidity room. If the humidity in the room is above 55%, then you should add less water. 2 teaspoons should be enough in this case.

Step 3:Spread the mixture on the silicone mold and let the toilet tabs air dry overnight or, ideally, for 24 hours. The best place to do this is in a sunny place in a room with low humidity. You can then carefully remove them from the mold.

Tipp:Even if you break some when removing the tabs from the silicone mold, you can continue to use them. If it takes too long for the tabs to dry completely, then you have added too much water.

Step 4:Store the finished tabs in a dry and cool place in an airtight jar.

Step 5:Once a week, take a tab out of the jar and put it in the toilet bowl. Carefully brush the bowl with the toilet brush and then rinse.

Our tip: also use it for the ceramic bathtub and kitchen sink
