Anyone who has dared to do it knows the difficulties - old buildings can often only be modernized and converted to a limited extent. But with a little imagination, the experts can renovate an old house and make it look modern. We present you an inspiring project from England - the DOS architects have transformed the old building into a modern and cozy single-family home.
Skylights allow plenty of sunlight into the living area
The clients wanted to renovate their old house and commissioned Dos Architects with the task of designing a modern and comfortable single-family home. First, the house facade was renovated and painted white, then new, larger windows were installed. The living room was put together with the kitchen. The end result is a bright and spacious living area that is small but cozybackyardlooks. The white walls make the rooms appear larger and create a visual connection between the first and second floors. In addition, the neutral colors are a perfect background for the eclectic furnishings.
The benefits of eclectic furnishings
The architects ofOF THEhave decided on an eclectic interior - they have restored the old furniture in the colonial style and combined it with colorful modern furniture. The red leather armchair in a minimalist look gives the living room a kick, posters decorate the walls in the hallway, and modern works of art on the shelves spice up the white fitted kitchen. The absolute highlights are undoubtedly the blue two-seater sofa made of plush toys on the ground floor and the pink double bed in the bedroom.
