Barbershop furnishings with modern and minimalist design

The architectural project called Kult is a barbershop facility in the old town of Odessa. The shop is located directly in the center, next to the famous Deribasovskaya-Straße. The architects got a room with 100 square meters in the building, from which there was only a dilapidated facade. It was impossible to strain wooden floors and even tiles with something heavy. So the team had to choose between linoleum and bulk floor.

Barbershop facility with style

The customer did not want to see the loft in the understanding of the style, which is widespread today. The design of the attic should therefore impress without old bricks, poster with haircuts and most of the characteristics typical of a hairdresser shop. For this reason, the room had to take up many additional functions. The client intended toTattoo StudioAnd add a pedicure for men and women. In addition, there was no space for relaxing or a waiting room, so that the designers designed an intermediate floor on which they could place sofas and an additional technical room.

The architectural office Sivak & Partner had very close deadlines. These included only 1.5 months for the project itself and another one and a half months for the construction of the entire construction. For this reason, the team chose the simplest solutions. There was no time to develop complex and experimental designs. So this did not give them time for mistakes. Therefore, they only aligned the walls and covered with specially designed decorative plaster to save time.

Set up large space with a small budget

If you work in a very accelerated mode, there is no time to doubt yourself. You immediately pull a clear line without trembling with your hand. For this reason, the color scheme and the design details were invented almost immediately. Part of the project was created during the construction phase. All furniture, fittings and plumbing work were made according to the designed sketches. The walls were covered with coarse decorative plaster because this solution saved time when preparing the walls.

The budget was limited, which is why the architects tried to create a unique room with simple materials. The construction process was very stressful, but they were able to complete the construction on time and the customer was very satisfied. The main idea was to open a place in Odessa that differs from other hairdressing shops. Therefore, the team tried to delete all the unnecessary details from the concept, to create pure minimalism and to shift the focus from the interior to the people who work in it because there are real professionals at work.
