How long does a trout take on the grill?
Juicy on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside – this is how grilled trout should taste. But those who have no experience with it usually have concerns about the preparation. How long does a trout take on the grill? Unfortunately, there is no general answer to this question and the grilling time depends on the thickness of the fish and of course the temperature. To prevent the fish from burning and sticking to the grill, a temperature of around 160-180 degrees is considered optimal.
But here's a small guideline: Whole trout that are about 4 centimeters thick need between 10 and 15 minutes on the grill. Fish fillets, on the other hand, are ready after about 7-8 minutes. Would you like to grill the trout to perfection? Then you can measure the core temperature at the thickest part with a thermometer. If the temperature is around 65 degrees, then you have done everything right. If protein comes out of all the meat, you have grilled the fish for too long.
