Mulled wine, punch and eggnog are in high season during the cold season, not only at the Christmas market but also at home. But a little variety every now and then isn't a bad thing, right? We're sure you'd agree - nothing beats a cold Aperol Spritz in the hot summer months. Well, unfortunately our favorite doesn't really warm you up in winter. But that's over now, because Hot Aperol is THE trendy drink in winter and tastes simply wonderful! Have we aroused your interest? Hot Aperol recipe: This is how the winter drink is prepared
After weRotwein-Cocoahave already drunk, we're now looking for a change. Beautifully fruity, Christmassy and in bright colors – Hot Aperol is an excellent alternative to mulled wine and puts us in the ultimate festive mood with the first sip. With just a few ingredients, the summer classic is transformed into a wonderfully delicious winter cocktail and we couldn't be happier about it!
Ingredients for 6-8 glasses:
- 350 ml Aperol
- 1 bottle of dry white wine
- 500 ml apple juice
- 30 ml Orangen-Syrup
- 1 orange and 1 lemon each
- Star anise, rosemary and cinnamon sticks for garnish
Preparation:
- Pour the white wine into a large pot and heat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes - but under no circumstances let it boil!
- Add the Aperol, apple juice and orange syrup to the pot and heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cut the orange and lemon into slices and add them.
- Heat for another 1-2 minutes and remove the pot from the heat.
- Divide the Hot Aperol between the glasses and garnish with star anise, rosemary and cinnamon sticks!
- Enjoy the mulled Aperol warm and enjoy it!
Whiskey Aperol recipe
The cold winter nights call for warming drinks and this Hot Aperol with Whiskey is exactly what we need in the dreary weather! Quick to make and full of flavors, the cocktail is perfect for a delicious oneAperitif for Christmas.
Ingredients for 4-6 glasses:
- 70 ml Aperol
- 100 ml Whiskey
- 20 grams of honey or maple syrup for a vegan version
- 1 orange, sliced
- 4 cinnamon sticks
Preparation:
- Place whiskey, Aperol and honey in a large pot and heat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour 250 ml of water into the pot, stirring occasionally, and heat for another 4-5 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and divide between the glasses.
- Garnish with 1 orange slice and cinnamon stick and enjoy!
- Here's a little tip: the Hot Aperol becomes even more aromatic if you add the cinnamon sticks and orange slices to the pot and let it steep for about 10 minutes. You can then heat the Hot Aperol briefly in the microwave as desired.
Recipe for Hot Aperol from the Thermomix
Whether for the next girls' night out or for a Netflix marathon on the couch - this Hot Aperol from the Thermomix warms our souls and immediately puts us in the pre-Christmas mood with its aromas.
Ingredients for 4 glasses:
- 150 ml Aperol
- 500 ml dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc
- 150 ml apple juice
- 40 ml Mango or Orange syrup
- 1 orange, sliced
- Cinnamon sticks and star anise for garnish
Hot Aperol Preparation:
- Add Aperol, white wine, apple juice and syrup to the mixing bowl and heat in the Thermomix at 70 degrees for 5 minutes at level 1.5.
- Pour the mixture into the glasses and decorate each with 1 orange slice and 1 cinnamon stick.
- And voilà – that’s how quickly you can make the Hot Aperol in the Thermomix! Really child's play, right?
