Combining wine and chocolate: How to do it right
Both chocolate and wine are popular indulgences that most of us love. Since most types of red wine have a slightly chocolaty note, they harmonize very well with chocolate and when combined correctly, they are guaranteed to create an unforgettable taste experience that will melt away! Many gourmet lovers enjoy a high-quality red wine with a piece of chocolate, which perfectly complements the spice and fruitiness of the wine. The combination is also a real winner when cooking and baking. We think you haveAte mulled wine cake?
To make red wine cocoa yourself, it is best to choose a red wine that is slightly sweeter than the chocolate you have chosen and has a pleasant acidity. A suitable choice for this would be, for example, Cabernet Sauvignon, cuvèes from Bordeaux and Pinot Noir or Merlot. However, Merlot tastes rather stronger and therefore goes particularly well with bitter chocolate.
