Idea for cake recipe – creative decoration as an accent

Decorate the finished, cooled cake:

  1. Put 2 tablespoons of icing (glaze) in a separate bowl and color it a light orange with orange food coloring. Pour half a cup of frosting into another bowl and use green paint to color it dark green. Pour another 2 tablespoons of glaze into a third bowl and leave white. Cover the three bowls with plastic wrap to prevent the icing from drying. Color the remaining glaze light green.
  2. Place the cake on a cake plate. Using a spatula, spread the light green frosting over the cake and down the sides.
  3. Place the dark green icing in a piping bag and form grass along the edges. Then form another line of grass across and lengthwise in the middle, creating four rectangles.
  4. Using a suitable attachment (nozzle), form the lower part of one pea pod in a rectangle and two pea pods in the opposite one. Fill with M&M's. These are supposed to represent peas. Form the other part of the pods over the “peas” so that they look half closed. Use a suitable attachment to form squiggly tendrils. Cover with remaining dark green frosting and set aside.
  5. Shape the bunny with the white icing and a suitable nozzle. To do this, form a circle for the body in the lower free rectangle and fill it with white icing. Then add two feet, a head and the two ears. Finally, place a point for the tail on the body.
  6. Fill a piping bag with the orange icing for the carrots. Crumble the biscuits (rusks) in the middle of the last rectangle. Use the piping bag to place a dot for the tip of the carrot, then the second, slightly larger one on top of it, and then make the next one a little larger until the carrot is approx. 6 cm tall. Repeat the same for a second carrot (next to the first). If desired, add carrots to the side of the cake as well.
  7. Using the remaining dark green icing, add the leaves of the carrots and grass under the bunny. Place flower decorations in the grass.

With a little imagination you can of course decorate the cake differently. This is a fantastic oneIdea for cake recipet, which allows improvisation.
