- Fry the bacon in a pan until it becomes crispy.
- After cooking, blot the bacon of excess fat with paper towels. Then set aside.

- Place the dark or milk chocolate in a separate bowl and melt in the same way.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and place the bacon strips on top.
- Brush or spoon some type of melted chocolate onto the bacon to cover it. Then decorate with optional toppings and/or drizzle some of the other chocolate on top.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up, then serve.
Notes:

Tips for the perfect corn dogs
- You can use your favorite brand of hot dogs for this recipe. You can also use other types of sausage.
- The recipe works with either popsicle sticks or candy sticks, depending on what you have on hand.
- Use a thermometer to make sure your oil is at the right temperature. If your oil is too hot, the corn dogs may burn. If the oil is too cold, the breading will absorb excess fat and become heavy.
- This recipe tastes best when served immediately. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Reheat the hot dogs in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven until heated through and crispy.
- It is important that the hot dogs are completely dry before dipping them in the batter. If there is moisture on the hot dogs, the dough will slide off.
- Are you having trouble with the dough not sticking to your hot dogs? You can try dusting the hot dogs in a little flour or cornstarch before dipping them.
- If you feel the batter is too thick, you can add another tablespoon or two of buttermilk to thin it out.
