Whether as a Valentine's Day cake, as a gift for Mother's Day or simply as a change, the cake is a touching treat. Best of all, it's quick and easier to make than it looks.

For the enchanting look, you practically need two baked loaf cakes made from the same dough. Feel free to use any pound cake recipe you like best. A little food coloring or cocoa is used to create a great contrast. Regardless of the recipe you choose, be it a lemon or sand cake, the principle is identical. First bake the dough for the first cake, from which you will later cut out the hearts. Except for the cocoa or food coloring, you need the same ingredients for the two batches. Once the colored cake has finished baking and has cooled, cut out the hearts using a cookie cutter of the desired size and set them aside.

Now you can mix the second dough. Now it's time to create the fascinating look. Simply pour a thin layer of the dough into the loaf pan and place the hearts close together on the dough layer. Alternatively, you can first place the hearts close together in the loaf pan and spread the dough on both empty long sides. Recipe for loaf cake with a heart inside

For a delicious sponge cake with a heavenly orange scent you need the following ingredients:

  • 400 g Flour
  • 375 g butter, softened
  • 375g sugar
  • 7 Owner
  • 100 ml orange juice
  • grated peel of an organic orange
  • 1 pack of baking powder
  • Vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • Food coloring of your choice
  • Fat and flour for the mold
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

For the two cakes you have to halve the ingredients or the dough. Put the sugar, butter, vanilla, salt and the orange peel in a bowl and stir until creamy. Stir in the eggs one after the other, alternating with a little flour each. Mix the remaining flour with the baking powder and add it to the other ingredients. Finally, stir in the orange juice. Place the dough in a greased and floured loaf tin (25 cm). Bake the heart cake at 175 degrees top/bottom heat for about 45-50 minutes. Continue as described above.

If you're in a hurry, you can simply use marzipan paste instead of dough for the heart. Cut them into small pieces and knead them with cocoa or baking coloring and a little powdered sugar. Then form a roll out of the marzipan mixture and cut a notch in the middle. Now you can slightly round the notch with your fingers and shape the bottom of the roll into a heart shape. Place the finished heart roll in the middle of the dough and spread the remaining dough on top.
