Quick recipes that also produce very tasty results are always welcome, right? The so-calledDump cake is definitely one of them. What makes it so special is that you don't actually need any dough at all, instead you just use a ready-made cake mix, which you can also prepare yourself. Typically, the cobbler-like cake is made with berry filling, but now that fall is upon us, we'd like to suggest a pumpkin dump cake instead.
The aromatic dump cake with pumpkin: made quickly and easily
The English word “dump” means something like “to throw away/unload/pour out/drop” and basically that’s exactly what you do: you throw all the ingredients into the baking pan.Beim CobblerThe fruit mix is topped with dollops of dough; in this alternative flash cake, the already mentioned cake mix is used instead. So you can also use the following pumpkin cream for a cobbler if you want.
For theDump cake with pumpkin, you can take ready-made pumpkin puree from a can or prepare puree yourself from a pumpkin. It is important that this has not already been seasoned, as it could become too spicy in combination with the recipe ingredients. The dessert is quick and easy to make and perfect if you want something to snack on in a hurry.
You need these ingredients for the dump cake with pumpkin:
- 450 g pumpkin puree, pure
- 340g condensed milk
- 200g sugar
- 4 Owner
- 1 tsp homemade pumpkin pie spice (preparation below)
or1 tsp cinnamon - 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
- 100 g coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
Alternatively or in combination, there are also marshmallows, (toffee) caramel pieces, chocolate chips, etc. possible - 225g melted butter
- 1 package of ready-made vanilla cake mix
- Oatmeal (optional)

For homemade pumpkin spice (optional):
- 2 TL Zimtpulver
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 0.5 tsp ground allspice
- 0.5 tsp nutmeg
Preparing the pumpkin pie
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and grease a baking dish (approx. 22 x 33 cm).
- Mix the puree with the sugar, the selected spice, the eggs, the condensed milk and the vanilla.
- Spread the pumpkin cream obtained in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cream.
- Top with the nuts or another desired topping or combine.
- Spread the melted butter.
- Bake the pumpkin and walnut dump cake for about 30 to 40 minutes, until the oats begin to turn golden brown. Be careful not to burn them.
- Then let the cake cool down a little before serving it warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
