Dough:

  • 240 grams of wheat flour
  • 350 grams of granulated sugar
  • 100 grams of cocoa powder
  • 240 grams of sour cream

  • 240 ml Sahne
  • 50 ml Whiskey
  • 1 TL Vanilleextrakt

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a 23 cm diameter springform pan with baking paper.
  • Mix eggs, sugar, sour cream, vegetable oil and vanilla extract in a large bowl with a hand mixer until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add cocoa powder, coffee and whiskey and stir until smooth.
  • Add wheat flour and baking powder and stir into a smooth dough.
  • Fold in the chopped chocolate and pour into the springform pan.
  • Bake for about 35-40 minutes and do a stick test.
  • Allow the whiskey cake to cool completely.
  • In the meantime, for the glaze, heat the dark chocolate in the microwave for 1 minute.
  • Heat cream in a small saucepan for 2-3 minutes until just starting to boil.
  • Pour the cream over the chocolate and let it rest for 2-3 minutes.
  • Stir with a whisk until smooth until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • Add vanilla extract and whiskey and place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Brush the cooled whiskey chocolate cake with the glaze and sprinkle with a little more chopped chocolate if desired.
