Do you want a healthy dessert or good breakfast? You can sprinkle your yogurt with some granola and then add plum compote. It would work just as well with toasted nuts, but if you want to keep it simple you can use whatever you have on hand.
Ingredients
- 7 – 8 plums, cored and quartered
- 1 Orange
- 3 EL Honig
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 TL Cardamom
- a pinch of salt
You will need a frying pan and a slotted spoon.
preparation
- Add the orange juice, spices and salt to the pan after squeezing the orange.
- Turn the heat to medium and dissolve the sugar, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes before adding the quartered plums.
- Simmer the ingredients for another 5 – 7 minutes until the plums are soft but still have some structure. Remove the plums with a slotted spoon when the liquid appears more watery than syrupy.
- Continue to simmer the liquid until it takes on a slightly syrupy consistency.
- Pour the syrupy liquid over the plums. The compote should be stored in an airtight container once it has cooled to room temperature.
