This furniture is a design award winner from the A' Design Award & Competition 2017

The international A' Design Award & Competition takes place every year. This is a world-leading design competition that honors the best furniture and designs from designers from around the world with the A' Design Prize. New entries are accepted annually until February 28th and the design award winners are announced on April 15th. The aim of the competition is suchProjectsto find people who contribute to society and make our world a better place. In this article we present some of the furniture designs that won the design award in 2017.

The A' Design Award & Competition is a competition with the philanthropic goal of improving society through innovation, science, design and creativity. Innovative and original ideas that improve our lives and find practical use in everyday life are rewarded. All entries are reviewed by experts in the relevant discipline and judged anonymously by a special jury. The jury consists of experienced scientists, famous press members and experts who determine the design award winners in each area. The ultimate goal of the competition is to bring together designers, companies and manufacturers who benefit society with their products and projects.

In principle, anyone can take part in the competition by registering their design on the A' Design Award website. The participating furniture, home accessories and decorative items can be both drafts and already realized projects. However, only entries designed in the last 10 years will be accepted.

Design award winner for 2017

Now we would like to introduce some of the award-winning products and designs from the last edition of the A' Design Awards. These include practical pieces of furniture, innovative lights and multifunctional systems that impress with their unusual and functional design.

Freestanding modular furniture system Lynko by Natalia Geci

Inspired by her nomadic lifestyle, Argentine designer Natalia Geci created this collection of modular, freestanding furniture that combine to create a small household. The owner can bring these pieces of furniture with them whenever they move and therefore have everything they need with them. Whether a home office, a kitchen or a valet, the system can be quickly redesigned with the corresponding accessories.

Julia chair by Mariel Nina Lazo

This elegant chair with an original design looks like a noble throne. The ash wood slats form a circle around the chair and are reminiscent of an open peacock wheel. The chair comes with soft padding for greater comfort.

Stocker chair from Freudwerk

Stocker Chair is designed like a combination of a chair and a stool. The design combines aesthetics with functionality and offers a practical solution for the dining area. Stocker chairs come in three color variations, can be stacked on top of each other and are made entirely of solid wood.

Multifunctional chair from Yestudio

This design award winner is again about a chair. In contrast to the previous designs, this product is a multifunctional chair that can be divided into four individual parts (two chairs, a table and a stool) and is offered in bright, bright colors. The artistic design belongs to a designer from Taiwan and impresses with its playful look and great functionality.

Outdoor chair Filoferru by Robby Cantarutti and Partners

Filoferru is a chair designed for outdoor use and uses the famous one as inspirationDiamond Chair von Bertoia. The shape of the seat is very ergonomic and comfortable despite being made entirely of steel wire.

Sagano Bamboo furniture collection by Alice Minkine

The Sagano Bamboo collection includes an armchair, a coffee table and some pendant lamps with original designs. When choosing materials, the designer chose bamboo because it is more environmentally friendly than other types of wood. Bamboos grow quickly and their life cycle is much shorter than that of other trees. The designer has developed her own technology with which the bamboo veneer can be shaped as desired.
