Drill a dowel into the plywood where you want the head. Attach the Styrofoam ball to the dowel.
Add the fake carrot nose, felt eyes, scarf, mittens and hat. Use any materials you like to customize your melted front yard snowman to your liking.
Make a big snowman out of car tires
The old car tires are a great material forMaking original decorations for the garden. They can be stacked, painted and decorated and turned into great figures. If you want to make a big snowman in the garden, you can easily do this with some car tires.
What you need:
- Tires in different sizes
- white color suitable for outdoor use
- black color
- Paint brush
- drill
- Scarf
- 2 sticks for arms
- orange flashlight (or something similar as a nose)
- Gloves or mittens
Tip: If you don't have any old tires, you can ask tire shops whether they sell used car tires.
And this is how it works:
First, clean the tires by brushing off dirt and debris. Stack the tires to get an idea of how big you want to build the snowman.
Decide which parts of the snowman you will make out of tires - just the body and head or maybe the hat too? There are also different ways to stack the tires. A variant would be to make the entire snowman out of stacked tires of different sizes. Or you could have oneTire with a sheet of plywood in the middle as a faceand place it upright on the stacked tires. In this guide we will focus on the first variant.
Lay a tarp on the ground and paint the tires white. If you are making the hat out of car tires, you can apply a layer of black paint if necessary. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly.
Find the right place for your snowman and then stack the car tires to build it. Drill holes for the arms and nose and insert the sticks and snowman nose into them.
Add a scarf, decorate the hat as desired, and paint black circles in the appropriate places for eyes, mouth, and buttons. Put mittens or gloves on the sticks and the snowman made of car tires is ready.
Snowman flower pot for outside
Transform empty clay pots into a beautiful snowman for the idealOutdoor winter decoration. For this snowman, you can use any buckets or flower pots in graduated sizes.
Materials:
- Flower pots or clay pots in 3 graduated sizes
- white color (if necessary)
- small Styrofoam balls
- black pen
- orange colored pencil
- small black bucket
- Neckerchief
- artificial greenery or artificial berry branches
- wide red ribbon
- craft knife
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
How to make a snowman out of flower pots:
If necessary, paint the clay pots white and leave them aside to dry.
Then take the smallest of the three flower pots, turn it over so its bottom is facing up, and then draw an orange carrot nose in the middle. Draw a mouth and two circles for the eyes and add more details of the face.
Wrap red ribbon around the black bucket and tape to make a hat brim. Glue a small piece of greens and berries to it for decoration.
Assemble the snowman so that the largest flower pot is on the bottom, the middle one is on top, and the smallest is facing up. You can fix the flower pots with glue if you want. Also place the hat on the snowman at an angle and secure it with glue if necessary.
Cut two small Styrofoam balls in half with a craft knife. Paint the rounded halves with the black pen and glue them to the front of the snowman as buttons. Wrap the scarf around the top flower pot and tie it tightly. The outdoor snowman is ready to brighten up your home entrance, garden or patio.

Outdoor tree trunk snowman
You can also make a snowman out of tree trunks for outside. For this you need three or four tree trunks without bark. The logs should have a similar diameter and can be stacked to form a snowman.
To make the snowman, first paint the logs white and stack them on top of each other to create the snowman's body and head. Then paint on the face and buttons, put a hat (you can use a thinner wooden trunk for this) on top and you're done.
Instead of tree trunks, you can also use tree slices
