Making poinsettias – simple ideas and instructions

Of course, stars should not be missing from the Christmas decorations. You can use them to decorate different areas, including the Christmas tree, the walls or the windows. We have put together several great craft ideas that you can use to make pretty poinsettias. It's best to get to work right away!

1. For this you need colorful paper. It is best to use thin cardboard. Cut out six strips of any width from three different colors. The first color should be about 7.5 cm long, the second 8 and the third 8.5 cm.
2. Cut each strip in half and fold them in half with the patterned side facing out. Apply some glue to the inner edges of the longest strip and glue the medium length strip inside. Then repeat the same with the shortest strip. This is how you get the first point for the star.

3. Make the remaining spikes in the same way. Finally, glue all the points together and your poinsettia is ready.
4. You can use any number and then to decorate the Christmas tree. To do this, punch a hole in one of the prongs and tie a string or ribbon.

1. You make these stars using a compass and a set square or protractor.
2. Draw a circle on a piece of paper. Connect the center and the edge of the circle with a line. 3. Put on the protractor and measure 72 degrees. Draw a line again.
4. Repeat at equal distances until you have five lines in a circle.

5. The five intersection points with the circle are then connected together as shown in red in the photo.
6. Then there are the dashed lines, which will later show you where the star should be folded.
7. Cut out the star.
8. Next the star is folded. The star is folded inwards along the dashed lines and outwards along the solid lines.

Clay for baking or salt dough are ideal for this idea. To get a star, you can easily use cookie cutters. After baking, you can also paint the clay in any color you like or even add additional Christmas motifs and patterns. How about, for example, a garland made of poinsettias? You can also use these to send messages. A great example is the version above with the message “Merry Christmas”.

These materials are also great as pendants. Just keep in mind that you will have to make a hole for the cord. This way you can quickly and easily make poinsettias that you can then use as Christmas tree decorations. Another great feature is that your children can also join in on this idea to feel the magic of Christmas.

1. Take a colored piece of paper and fold it like a fan.
2. Then cut out the folded paper as shown.
3. Fold the strip in the middle and staple everything together at this point.
4. Then pull the two ends apart and staple them together so that the shape of a star is created.

This star is also made using the same folding principle. The only difference is how the fan is cut.

Christmas with a rustic flair? The best way to achieve this is to use wood. You can make the top poinsettias by simply attaching wooden strips together. This is also a great way to use leftover materials, for example after renovation work, instead of throwing them away. You can also cut out a whole star figure from a thin wooden plate or have it cut out. You can then spray paint these in gold or silver to match Christmas. Of course, any other color is also suitable. The main thing is that the stars match your interior and the rest of the Christmas decorations.
