Recipe with curd soap
You can easily make your own shower gel using the following basic recipe:
- 80 g – 90 g curd soap or natural soap
- 400 ml water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (sunflower oil, sesame oil, olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil)
- optional: 15 ml vegetable, liquid lecithin (available at the pharmacy)
- As an alternative to lecithin, you can use other thickeners such as locust bean gum, cornstarch or xanthan gum
Instructions
For your soothing and healthy shower bath, you must first grate the core or natural soap finely with a kitchen rasp. In the meantime, put the water in a saucepan and bring it to the boil. Then add the grated soap to the water while stirring constantly. Stir with the whisk until all the soap has dissolved. Remove the liquid from the heat and let it cool. To avoid lumps, stir occasionally with the whisk. Then add the vegetable oil and lecithin to the lukewarm mixture. If you don't use lecithin, you have to shake the shower gel well before each use so that the different ingredients combine with each other. You can achieve a thicker consistency with a little more soap, and a thinner one by adding additional water.
