Collecting and combining all the ingredients

- Sheabutter:Sourcing creamy, raw shea butter as the base for the balm

- Tubes or cans:Get containers for your homemade lip balm
Combine the ingredients:Take the beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil and add them to the top container of the double boiler. Add tap water to the bottom pot of the double boiler. Place the double boiler on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Once all the ingredients in the pot begin to melt, stir and combine with a spatula or wooden spoon.
Make your own lip balm – add flavor and color
Add Flavor:When all the main ingredients are melted and well mixed, remove the double boiler from direct heat. Hold the top pot over the bottom pot of water to maintain the temperature of the ingredients (and to prevent the melted balm base from hardening). Start by adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil into the mixture. First mix five to ten drops and then test the scent. Add more essential oil depending on your preference.
Add color to the lip balm:It's time to bring color into play too. A pinch of mica powder or lipstick on the balm base is enough. Stir to combine the color with the mixture. Gradually add more powder or lipstick to darken the mixture to your liking. Then spoon the balm into a pipette or dropper.
Completion:Once the mixture is in the pipette or dropper, pour the balm into the jars or tubes. Let them cool at room temperature for a few hours. Once cooled to room temperature, you can enjoy your newly created tinted lip balm!
