Summer Pedicure 2022 – See what the color trends are & how you can do a great pedicure at home

Ah, summer. The time of year when you spend twice as long in front of the nail polish wall at the salon deciding on shades for a summer pedicure and manicure. Bright tones like red, pink and coral are always popular in summer. But this year, neon yellow, ice blue and earth tones are also very trendy. Take a look at the best pedicure colors for summer 2022 according to nail experts.

Summer pedicure 2022 – Which colors are popular

Coral:Are you looking for a pedicure color that's not too light but still vibrant? Coral is your answer. This Pear Nova shade offers creamy, opaque coverage and a long-lasting finish.

Neutral: Opt for a matching, neutral pedicure with this shade.

Hot pink: This bold pink will immediately make you think of summer. It's the perfect pink for all skin tones.

Beautiful lilac: One of the top colors for summer pedicures. A pastel purple that looks subtle yet fresh, and a shade that suits every skin tone.

Highlighter Gelb: If you want to spice up your summer pedicure, choose a neon yellow shade. It's a bright neon yellow that's perfect for summer toes. It screams “I’m ready for the beach or the pool.”

Away from white: This color perfectly captures the milky white nail trend, but gives it an edge with a pearly gold effect.

Icy blue: While we typically think of soft pinks and purples when we think of pastels, this is an icy, light blue that pairs perfectly with any sunny backdrop.

A hint of lime: Lime green nail polish is the trend color of the season. We love this shade because it's a perfect lemon-lime green with a hint of shimmer.

Minty fresh: This pastel, mint green hue conveys a sense of calm while embracing the soft, muted color trend.

Squash:This color is just slightly less than a true orange. Squash is a toned down version of the juicy hue without being too subtle. It looks just as sophisticated as a nude or neutral color, but also meets all the criteria for unusual chic.

Two-tone nails are a stylish design for summer. Let yourselfinspire here!

Cherry red: Pedicure trends come and go, but bright red nail polish for your toes is always a good idea.

How to do a salon-like pedicure at home

What do you need for a DIY pedicure? Before you get started, you should gather all the utensils you need for your relaxing pedicure. We recommend the following: nail polish remover, cotton pads, soap (and a tub filled with water!), a foot file for calluses, a nail file, cuticle oil, moisturizer, toe separators, your choice of summer nail polish, and a top coat.

  1. Soak your feet like in a spa:For a DIY foot soak, fill your tub with warm water and soap (body wash will do!) and soak your feet for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the dead skin:After drying your feet, use a foot file to remove dead skin from calloused areas. Pay attention to the balls of your feet, the sides of your feet, and your heels. Scrape these areas until they feel smooth, but don't overdo it - you could cause skin irritation.
  3. File and shape your nails:Use a nail trimmer to achieve the desired length and shape, then file the corners with a nail file to smooth them. Instead of removing the cuticles, nail experts recommend simply pushing them back.
  4. Apply cuticle oil:Cuticle oil not only keeps your feet soft and moisturized, but it also prevents your nail polish from chipping.
  5. Moisturize:Moisturize your feet with an unscented lotion to hydrate the skin and keep it supple. Scented lotions containing synthetic fragrances can cause your nail polish to chip.
  6. Prepare your toes:Use toe separators to make painting your toes easier and avoid a mess.
  7. Apply your polish:Don't forget the base coat because it gives your nail polish something to penetrate, aside from your nails. The base coat should be dry after about two minutes. Then you are ready to apply a color. Apply two to three coats of nail polish. Make sure each coat is dry before applying the next. Paint in thin layers. Thick strokes make the paint look clumpy and take longer to dry.
  8. Apply a quick-drying top coat:Finish with a top coat so yourSummer pedicuremaintain a high shine.
