Cladding a facade with zinc sheeting: an overview of the different types of zinc facades

It conveys value, is very durable andprotects the buildingfrom weather influences: The modern zinc facade has many different tasks. The facade cladding made of titanium zinc offers freedom of design and can easily be adapted to local conditions and the client's wishes. If you want to cover your facade with zinc sheeting, you can choose between different facade systems and customize them. We give you an overview of the variants.

A zinc facade is usually made from titanium zinc. It is a durable alloy that contains not only zinc, but also titanium and copper. By the way, the titanium zinc doesn't just come asFacade cladding, but also as a material for metal roofs. It is a durable material that protects the building from wind, rain and snow while also having a visually appealing appearance. If you decide to do this and want to encase a building with it, you can choose between the following variants:

1. The folding systemsoffer a certain degree of freedom of design. From facade designs with angled standing seams, which impress with their simple and quick installation, to complicated designs with large diamond shapes: there are no limits to the architects' imagination.

Advantages: Can be used both as accents and to highlight individual architectural elements. The details can be laid vertically or horizontally, and the width and length of the individual elements can be individualized.

2.With the term“Panel systems”are different types of metal curtain wall facades. Your advantage: the panels can be prefabricated and then assembled quickly and easily on site. This cost-effective option is preferred by many builders. You can choose from horizontal, slotted rebate and shiplap panels. If you want to add extra flair to your facade, choose a surface design with embossing and perforations that allow sunlight into the interior and create an exciting play of light and shadow.

Advantages: The panels can be ventilated, so mold and moisture are not an issue. They offer protection from the elements and additional insulation.

3. The profile systemsare suitable for buildings with a natural design language without corners and edges. If soft curves characterize the building, then corrugated profiles can offer a solution. It looks particularly futuristic if the roof is also laid with zinc profiles. However, numerous combinations between the masonry and the zinc elements can also be achieved.

Advantages: Easy to install and modern look. The profiles can be mounted horizontally, vertically and even diagonally, depending on your preference.

4. The cassette systemsare particularly suitable for larger buildings. This allows individual building volumes, such as extensions, to be effectively showcased. The cassette systems require a substructure, similar to the panel and profile systems. In contrast to the other variants, they also have a shadow gap. The cassettes are only laid horizontally.

Advantages: Offer tailor-made solutions and can be spiced up with folds and various cut-out motifs.
