Wooden house built on stilts against heavy snowfall

Everyone who is passionate about winter sports has at least once dreamed of a house in a beautiful ski resort. You can relax there after a long day on the ski slopes and read a good book in front of the fireplace. The architects from the Life Style Koubou architecture studio have designed such a holiday home in Japan, which impresses with a very special design. The house is made of wood and is located near the Bandai Volcano in Fukushima, Japan. This is considered a popular winter sports area and is characterized by heavy snowfalls. That's why the architects built the wooden house on stilts to deal with the heavy snowfall in winter. With such a structure, the snow accumulates under the house and there is no danger that the residents and guests will one day wake up and cannot open the door because of a large snowdrift.

The Bandai volcano group in Fukushima is characterized by a large amount of snow every year, making it a dream location for winter sports. The climatic conditions in the region were...Design of the holiday homeby the architecture studio Life Style Koubou and determined the structure of the building. Building the wooden house on stilts is the perfect solution for a house in such an area.

The house consists of two separate buildings - one for the wet rooms and bedrooms and one for the living area. When building a holiday home, the most important thing is:cedarused, which comes exclusively from the region. However, cedar is not only used for the facade and roof, but also indoors. The entire house is connected to nature and fits harmoniously into the natural landscape. Solid stones serve as the basis for the stilts, which ensure more stability. When the heavy snowfall comes, the snow collects under the house and therefore does not block the entrance to the house.

The two separate structures of the house are connected by a white bridge that provides a passage directly between the trees. The building in which the living space is located is completely designed with glass fronts that offer wonderful views of the surrounding area. This makes you feel like you are outdoors. This area is furnished with a free-standing fireplace to provide warmth and comfort on cold evenings. The stilts on which the house was built also run throughout the interior and look like beautiful accents. These are designed in white to match the snow. The wooden house on stilts in Japan is a wonderful place to relax where you can be in close connection with nature.
