Food editor Elisabeth Tatter: My recipe of the week – My favorite drinks for toasting

Hello, welcome to my kitchen. I'm Elisabeth, food editor at Freund. I love delicious food and I like trying new recipes. Recently, every week I've been inviting you to visit me in my kitchen - or take a look at my foodie inspiration folder (yes, it's real) - and share my recipe of the week with you. Be it a quick everyday meal after work, a delicious cake for the weekend, an innovative creation or a brand new food trend that I just discovered.

Recipe of the week: My favorite drinks for toasting

A delicious oneIt's simply a part of the holidays - it can sometimes be with or without alcohol. But there is one ingredient that cannot be missing for me during the holidays:Cranberrysaft. Somehow the dark, bright red (which often turns heavenly pink in drinks) has something wintry and festive to me - perfect for. My absolute favorite in the glass: theCosmopolitan. The drink not only looks great, it is also perfectly balanced. It combines aromatic, slightly bitter cranberry juice with fresh lime juice, clean vodka and sweet Cointreau. Wonderful!

Always delicious: A classic Cosmopolitan always tastes good - and can be decorated however you like, making it suitable for the holidays

But even if you can't drink alcohol - or don't want to - you don't have to go without delicious drinks. Because with the right ingredients you can succeedadult mocktailsthat doesn't followor soda, but can compete in taste with real cocktails. Here too I have brought you a variant - another one withCranberrysaft. Because this is made with lime juice, bitter lemon and a shotcombined, one is createdsparkling, aromatic drink– without any alcohol, but with a lot of taste.

And on that note: Cheers & a happy new year!

Doesn't taste like giving up at all: This mocktail is a great alternative to the classic Spritz

A real cocktail classic: This is how you mix a Cosmopolitan

    Ingredients for 1 drink:

    • 2 cl Cranberrysaft
    • 3 cl Wodka
    • 1 cl Cointreau
    • 2 cl lime juice
    • Ice cubes

    Preparation:

    1. Place a few ice cubes in a shaker (or a large mason jar with a screw top). Cranberry juice with vodka, pour Cointreau over it. Squeeze out the lime juice and pour the juice into the shaker.
    2. Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously.
    3. Pour the drink through a bar strainer into a glass (preferably a martini glass) and garnish with a slice of lime if desired.

Tipp:The drink is relatively strong - if that's too much for you, you can pour some bitter lemon or tonic water into the glass at the end. This makes the cocktail a little fresher, tangier and less intense.

Enjoyable even without alcohol: this is how you mix a light cranberry mocktail

    Ingredients for 1 drink:

    • 6 cl Cranberrysaft
    • 2 cl lime juice
    • 2 cl Ginger Ale
    • 6 cl Bitter Lemon
    • Ice cubes

    Preparation:

    1. Fill a large wine glass with a few ice cubes. Add cranberry and lime juice and pour in ginger ale and bitter lemon.
    2. Decorate with a lime wedge or something similar if desired.

Tipp:If you like it a little sweeter and less bitter, you can use less ginger ale or use a sweeter lemonade instead of bitter lemon. The rule here is: whatever you like can be added.
