The 5 best restaurants for drinks and food in Munich
We present our favorites to you here.
“Jacob” in Munich
Your favorite cuisine is “something Mediterranean”? Then “Jacob” is the right place for you! The menu can be described as “everything Mediterranean” – from Greek, Italian to Israeli and French. It is particularly comfortable to sit in a modern open space on elegant upholstered armchairs with dark wooden tables and art on the wall. In summer you can also sit outside on the terrace.
It's best to share the starters like in...usual and orders a bit of everything. Afterwards you are at least saturated enough to have one or two signatures.can take. The restaurant is aesthetically divided into two parts. One half of the room is more modern fine dining and the other half is an atmospheric bar.
Jacob
But it's not just during the week that you can eat well and drink well here. On weekends, half of the location is transformed into a bar with 60s charm and a club feeling. From the well-known Espresso Martini to the extraordinary Fig Fizz, everything is available here.
By the way: People don't actually talk about it, but the toilet is simply unique. Anyone who briefly disappears returns with exciting pictures. Black and white patterns, neon signs and a bunker door greet you before you retreat into the quiet place.

“Lucky Who”
In the office, people like to talk about exactly one thing during their lunch break:. In the “Lucky Who” canteen you can get pretty good pasta to take away at lunchtime for a reasonable price (of course you can also eat on site). The menu changes every now and then - and primarily uses local dishes. In the evening the menu is small but nice, with a large selection of starters. Here too you can share, and there are some dishes that are designed for two people - which can also be shared with a group.
In the evening, from around 11 p.m., the “Lucky Who” turns into a club where mainly local DJs play. There are various events, and on theWebsiteYou can see the program for each evening (usually Saturday). The club's reviews are very mixed - it also depends on what program is currently taking place. The club has a small bar room and the restaurant area as well as an inner courtyard. It's especially nice in summer when you can party outside - because no matter what the weather, it always gets warm and stuffy quickly in a club.

“Schumann’s Bar” at the Hofgarten
The legendary “Schumanns” is no longer an insider tip. This is where people meet to see and be seen. You can often find Munich's high society here - but if you have patience, you'll definitely find a place in between. It's not a classic restaurant, but they serve both lunch and dinner - mostly regional. In summer you can also sit outside on the terrace and find yourself in a beautiful courtyard garden.
You don't go dancing here in the evening, but you can sip excellent cocktails surrounded by an American bar aesthetic. The internationally known bartender legend and namesake Charles Schumann can often be found in his bar, where he makes possibly the best cocktails in the city.

“Bar Davide”
Would it be nice to eat something small, have a casual drink and not have to sell your shirt for it? This is the concept of the new “Bar Davide”. The owner, David Rebl, was previously at “Schumanns” for ten years, where Charles himself called him Davide - hence the name of the bar. As is usual in many of these establishments, the food is mainly served with appetizers, which are best enjoyed shares.
There is also a small but fine wine list and really good cocktails. You immediately feel at home, so you can have a relaxed drink after work and some burrata or pinsa so that the drink doesn't go to your head straight away.

“Alte Utting”
Eating, drinking and dancing on an old ship above the streets of Munich? This is possible in the “Alte Utting”. From African cuisine and crepes to pizza, there is something for everyone at the food stalls. Here you can also get your food in a group from different stands and then sit down together. Drinks are also provided, so you can get cocktails, wines, coffee and much more at various bars.
What is special here? Of course, you can immediately see that you are actually on the excursion steamer “MS Utting”, which once sailed on Lake Ammersee. When the steamer was supposed to be scrapped, it was saved instead, and after many struggles, restaurants were able to expand on it. Nowadays there is a lot of cultural program there with bands, lectures, quiz nights and parties - with a lot of regional art and artists.
