Our recipe for heavenly apple thalers with cinnamon

Ingredients for approx. 15 pieces:

  • 4 apples
  • approx. 30 ml lemon juice
  • 100 g Butter
  • 80g sugar
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Flour
  • 2 heaped teaspoons of baking powder

And it's that easy:

1. First peel the apples, core them and cut them into small pieces. Mix immediately with lemon juice and cinnamon and cover and let it steep for a few minutes.

2. Now it's time to make the dough. Mix the soft butter together with the sugar, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt until fluffy. Then stir in the eggs - one after the other, so the dough becomes particularly fluffy.

3. Mix the flour with the baking powder and then gradually sift into the dough. Now add the apple pieces (including the cinnamon liquid) and fold in carefully.

4. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place about 15 mounds of dough on top using a moistened tablespoon. In the preheated oven180 degrees circulating air (200 degrees top/bottom heat)Bake for about 20-25 minutes.

Tipp:Alternatively, the cakes can also be cooked in the hot air fryer. If you don't have a big oneYou have a double air fryer like this one from Amazon*, it's best to only prepare half of the dough. Then place the dough mounds into individual muffin cups in the air fryer basket. Bake at 175 degrees for about 18 minutes.

5. The cakes are best enjoyed lukewarm and optionally dusted with powdered sugar. Also delicious: Mix a glaze from powdered sugar and water and cover the thalers with it.
