Recipe for farmer's pot: Spicy, rustic, simply made
Is there anything more annoying than scrubbing countless pots and pans after dinner? I don't believe. That's why I like our recipe for farmer's pot even better: all you need is a large pot and a cutting board. Really practical, right?
And the best:The stew can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days and frozen great. The next day it tastes even better. So you can easily warm up the hearty delicacy again.
You need these ingredients for about four servings:
- 500g minced meat
- 400g potatoes
- 250 g red, yellow and green peppers
- 300 g leek
- 2-3 carrots
- 2 onions
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 400 g canned diced tomatoes
- 300 ml vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon oil
- A teaspoon of sugar
- A little paprika powder, very hot
- Salt and pepper to taste
To garnish
- A pot of sour cream
- 1/2 bunch parsley, chopped
This is how the stew works:
1. Peel your potatoes, onions and carrots. Then cut them into small pieces. Wash and chop the peppers and leeks.
Tipp:Feel free to add other vegetables, such as zucchini or mushrooms. Whatever your taste!
2. Heat oil in a large pot and fry the minced meat in it. Sauté the onions briefly. Add the crushed garlic. Deglaze with the broth and the chopped canned tomatoes. Add tomato paste, leeks, potatoes, carrots and peppers.
3. Season with salt, pepper and paprika powder. Then turn the heat of the stove to medium and cover the pot with a lid. Leave the court alone40 minutessimmer. If it's too thin for you, you can let it simmer for another 10 minutes without a lid.
4. Finally stir in the parsley. Divide into portions, garnish with a dollop of sour cream, and you're done!
Serving tip:The stew tastes great with a few slices of fresh bread.
Modify the farmer's pot: this makes it extra spicy
If you like it extra spicy, you can also add cabanossi to the farm. The small mini salami give the hearty stew a delicious note of paprika. If you can't find cabanossi, you can add raw eaters or pepper biters cut into pieces instead.
