Recipe for baked apples from the air fryer
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
- 2 apples (e.g. Boskop or Elstar)
- 40 g Marzipanrohmasse
- 1 tbsp chopped nuts (e.g. almonds, hazelnuts or walnuts)
- 1 tbsp raisins (alternatively cranberries)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 TL Butter
- 2 dashes of lemon juice
- Optional: vanilla sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream to serve
Preparation:
1. Wash the apples thoroughly and remove the core using an apple corer (buy here on Amazon*) or remove with a small knife. Be sure to leave the bottom of the apple intact so the filling doesn't spill out later.
2. Mix the chopped nuts, raisins, cinnamon and the raw marzipan mixture in a small bowl. If you like it sweeter, you can also stir in a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup.
3. Gently press the prepared filling into the hollows of the apples. Put a small piece of butter (approx. ½ teaspoon per apple) on top so that the filling becomes nice and juicy later.
4. Place the apples in a baking dish that fits in the air fryer basket or place some baking paper under the baked apples. Bake the apples at 200°C for 10 to 15 minutes until they are soft.
5. The baked apples are best enjoyed warm! A dollop of vanilla sauce or a scoop of ice cream goes perfectly with it.
Tipp:If you want it to be even more aromatic, you can refine the filling with a pinch of gingerbread spice or a dash of amaretto. A few chocolate chips mixed into the filling are also really tasty.
