Gingerbread Latte Macchiato: Coffee can taste so Christmassy
The mixture of strong espresso, sweetened milk and the characteristic gingerbread spices makes the gingerbread latte macchiato an ideal companion for cold days.
In addition to the irresistible taste, the scent of the gingerbread latte alone will put you in the Christmas mood. Perfect for a sweet energy kick in between that will warm your heart.
For two servings you need:
- 500 ml milk (vegetable drink also works)
- 150 ml Espresso
- 1 pack vanilla sugar
- 1 EL Honig
- 1 teaspoon gingerbread spice (you can get ithere on Amazon*)
- some cinnamon
- optional: whipped cream
And this is how it works:
1. Heats up approx.400 ml of milktogether with the gingerbread spice, vanilla sugar and honey, stirring constantly. Meanwhile, froth the remaining 100 ml of milk and make the espresso. Tip: If you don't have espresso on hand, you can toostrong “normal” coffeetake.
2. Pour the heated milk and then the frothed milk into a tall glass. Instead of milk foam, you can also use whipped cream as a topping. In this case, simply leave out the remaining 100 ml of milk.
3. Now pour in the espresso and decorate your gingerbread latte with some cinnamon powder and a gingerbread that you clip to the edge of the glass.
