Tiramisu for Christmas? Sure, of course! But only in this very special version with speculoos. Layer by layer a dessert poem!
We really love serving things up on Christmas days. The preparations for the perfect dinner can sometimes take a little longer. However, the most important thing to us is that everyone at the table enjoys it.
We love trying out new recipes. For our festive Christmas menu this year we have chosen a real classic, which we are adapting into a sugary Christmas version: Tiramisu.
Instead of ladyfingers, simply add speculoos to the dessert. To make the dessert a real eye-catcher on the festive table, we finish our tiramisu with beautifully shaped poinsettias
Christmas tiramisu: quick recipe without alcohol
Sweeten your loved ones' Christmas season with this brilliant dessert. Everyone knows normal tiramisu. But our Christmas tiramisu impresses across the board with aromatic speculoos cookies, a sweet cream that is not too heavy on the stomach and fruity berries.
Our recipe does not contain any alcohol, which is usually the case in the classic recipeis used. Instead, the juicy berries soften the cookies. The combination of crunchy-sweet-spicy and fruity combines in your mouth to create a great taste explosion. That's exactly what we want for the holidays.
You need:
- 200 g Mascarpone
- 250g Stage
- 250 g Quark
- 100g sugar
- 200 g speculoos cookies
- 300 g mixed berries (frozen)
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Preparation is so easy:
1. Allow the fruit to thaw at room temperature for 2 – 3 hours before preparing. Pour off excess juice.
2. Beat the cream until stiff.
3. Mix mascarpone, quark, sugar and vanilla sugar,
4. Fold in the whipped cream.
5. In a square baking dish (You can find a suitable shape here on Amazon*) Spread about three tablespoons of the cream and place a layer of speculoos on top.
6. Now spread the berries on top. Spread the remaining cream on top and cover with speculoos.
7. Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least four hours and even better overnight.
8. Before serving, make some star stencils and place them on the tiramisu. Now dust the dessert with cocoa. This creates a Christmas pattern.
Modify Christmas tiramisu
The nice thing about recipes like our Christmas tiramisu is that they can be easily adapted to your personal taste. If you want to make your Christmas dessert even more special, try one of the following variations:
Add orange flavor
For a fresh, citrusy note, you can add finely grated organic orange peel to the mascarpone cream. A shot of orange liqueur (if only adults are eating) or orange juice gives the tiramisu a special touch that is perfect for Christmas.
Chocolate twist
Chocolate lovers can mix melted dark chocolate into the mascarpone cream. This gives the dessert an even richer and more intense flavor.
Nussiger Crunch
For an extra crunch, you can sprinkle chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans over the finished tiramisu or add them between the layers.
