First in the video: Dry skin in winter: causes and care tips
Many people suffer from cracked hands in winter. We've discovered the secret to never having dry patches again.
If there's one thing that stays with me all year round, it's my extremely dry hands. In autumn and winter the heating air bothers them, in summer it's the roaring air conditioning systems.
That's why I have a hand cream ready to hand in every single room in my home. And I always have a mini-sized one in my handbag. Over time, I have become an absolute hand care expert.
Extremely dry hands need special care
Now I've come across a very simple tip and what can I say: my hands have never been so soft. And that's a real relief, because my extremely dry hands were not only super annoying, but they also caused me pain as the skin on my knuckles became cracked. Ouch!
To prevent this, a good hand cream is the ultimate. But if you look at the beauty shelf at the drugstore, there is a lot to choose from. Which hand cream really helps against extremely dry skin?
And that's exactly where the best tip for silky-soft hands comes into play. Because if your fingers are dry, you shouldUse not just one cream, but two different products: A fast-absorbing lotion for daytime and a greasy balm for nighttime.
No more chapped hands with these two creams
With a light hand cream (often referred to as hand lotion), our dry hands get a quick moisture boost during the day. After all, we can't use it in everyday life if our smartphone or other things are suddenly full of grease stains. (Shop for a quickly absorbing hand cream here*.)
At night, however, a rich hand cream or hand balm can be optimally absorbed into extremely dry skin, so that you wake up in the morning with buttery-soft hands. The moisturizing balm also protects the skin from drying out again.A balm with intensive care is available here on Amazon from Jean & Len.*
As a preventive treatment or for extremely dry hands with cracked areas, the combination of two different creams is simply unbeatable!

The only exception: Your job requires you to use hand balm even during the day. The greasy film can protect the skin from injuries and the penetration of bacteria in many professions (e.g. crafts).

Hand cream, hand lotion or hand balm - what's the difference?
Looking for a suitable hand cream? Then the question quickly arises as to which product it should be. Terms like lotion or balm can quickly become confusing. So what's the difference?
Very easy:A hand lotionis not quite as “creamy” as a conventional hand cream, so it is a bit more liquid. Most products have a higher water content. They absorb quickly and make your hands supple again in no time.
A rich hand balmis highly moisturizing, absorbs less quickly and also serves to protect the skin surface, e.g. B. in skilled trades. You can often recognize different hand creams by terms such as “quickly absorbed”, “light” or “intensively nourishing” or “re-greasing”.
Here you will find various hand creams and balm products for soft hands:
Our conclusion:Together with a light hand lotion and a rich balm, you are perfectly prepared for the winter. And dry hands no longer stand a chance with you!
