First in the video: Wash correctly: That's why clothes should be turned inside out

Did the cord come out of your hoodie after washing? No problem. With our trick it can be threaded back in quickly.

Whether joggers or hoodies, we love comfortable clothing. The problem with such casual clothing is that the cord simply slipped out or disappeared into the drawstring, usually after washing in the washing machine.

I know the problem myself and so far I have tried to thread the cord again and again in the most complicated ways. At some point it worked, but it was quite a mess.

So a better solution needs to be found. Luckily, while looking for a simple and practical solution, I found it. In order to thread a cord again, all you need is a small tool, which everyone probably has at home.

The straw trick makes it possible

To rethread a cord from a hoodie, all you need is a straw (should be sturdy) and some tape. Luckily most people have this at home.

Let's go:

  1. Attach the end of the cord to the straw with the tape. It's best to use a slightly sturdier drinking straw. It's easier this way.
  2. Now guide the straw through the drawstring. Do this little by little until it comes out at the other end.
  3. Now you can simply pull the cord all the way through the drawstring until the correct length is reached.
  4. Finally, remove the tape. Problem solved!

Sounds super easy and it is. Since then I no longer have to worry about loose cords.

No straw at hand? No panic

If you don't have a straw to hand at home, you can use other options that are just as simple.

  1. With the help of oneSafety pin, a cord can be threaded back into the hoodie or sweatpants just as quickly. To do this, stick the needle through the end of the cord, close the needle and then push it through the drawstring piece by piece.
  2. Also oneHair clammeris a good alternative to straws. Clamp the end of the cord between the clip and gradually pull it through the drawstring until it comes out at the other end.

If you often have the problem of the cord on your clothing becoming unthreaded, then a practical tool might be worth it for you. There is a real onethreader*which is specifically designed for drawstrings. This is what you get, among other thingsAmazon.*

With these tricks you can prevent the cord from slipping out

Even if you now know the ultimate tricks for rethreading cords quickly and easily, there are a few tips to prevent the cord from slipping out in the first place.

  1. At the end of the cord you can see so-calledCord stopper* fasten. This will prevent the band from pulling through the drawstring.
  2. Instead of a cord stopper, you can also tie a simple knot in the cord ends. This way the tape stays where it belongs and you save yourself a lot of stress.
