“The Bear Cave” – A creatively designed children’s room with a loft bed and closet

Most children aged 5-6 and over absolutely love bunk beds. This means games, fun and adventure even within your own four walls. But these beds also offer practical advantages that convince parents. A loft bed is a great way to save space in your child's room and create more play space. You can also put a desk or a wardrobe under the bed. Today we present you a great furnishing project for a children's room with a loft bed that surprises with many creative solutions.

Fun and games are guaranteed in this children's room with a loft bed!

Interior designers Ludmila Drudi and Carla Barconte of Estudio Plök, in collaboration with architect Mariana Paccieri, have created a unique children's room for Casa Foa 2018, Argentina's most prestigious architecture and interior design fair. They named this fun and creative project #thebearscave. As he suggests, the small children's room for two children is set up like a bear's denlots of room for imagination. The design is gender-neutral and is suitable for both girls and boys. The natural materials such as wood and cork ensure a natural feeling of well-being.

The room impresses with itshigh ceilingand it was a feature the design team really wanted to take advantage of. What's interesting is how the designers played with different perspectives and techniques to make the room look wider. Since the floorboards are laid diagonally, the narrow room appears visually wider. The floor and wall coverings flow smoothly into one another, which also creates an optical illusion.

Straight lines and right angles are deliberately avoided here; the focus is on irregularities. This can also be seen in the design of the furniture in the children's room. A small desk floats diagonally on the wall in the corner of the room, while a narrow wooden bench by the window invites you to read or linger. Wooden toys and cork stools fit perfectly with the natural theme.

Inspired by nature, the loft bed is designed for 2 children: one child can sleep at the top, on the mountain peak, and his sibling can sleep at the bottom, in the bear cave. Apull-out bed, which is integrated into the underbed, offers additional lying space for guests. Without the mattress, it is of course also possible to store toys or bed linen there.

A compact and space-saving ladder leads from the cozy “bear cave” to the mountain peak. An alternative way to climb onto the bed is to use the climbing holds that have been attached to the cross wall. For additional safety, a protective net is attached to the loft bed. From up here you get a better view of the white bear mural in the opposite corner of the room. The cute bear with a yellow scarf is shown in a nice size and is shown to advantage by the light gray wall color.

Cleverly placed light sources create the mood and emphasize the attractiveness of the furnishings. Powerful LED strips run along the edges of furniture or are installed behind the wall panels. Pendant lights, wall spotlights and reading lights complement the lighting concept perfectly and specifically illuminate individual workstations.

A children's room with a loft bed is not only fun for the child, but can also offer plenty of storage space. The large, tailor-made closet system makes the room look nice and tidy and provides enough space for playing and running around. The cabinet fronts have no handles and are equipped with modern opening mechanisms. The uncomplicated design combines two wood tones and repeats the mountain motif.

Multifunctional and spacious, this children's room with a loft bed scores with well-thought-out living ideas! Be inspired by the variety of creative solutions and think about how you can implement some of them in your own four walls.
