Design Advent wreaths on a wooden disc
If you want to make this advent wreath, you can use both fresh fir green and moss as well as get artificial. Make wreaths yourself - instructions
Take the piece of cardboard and a tealight and use the latter as a template to draw four circles on the cardboard. Glue the tape as a decoration around the upper edges of the glasses. Then cut out the circles to get the shields. With a brush and white color you then design them as desired with the numbers from 1 to 4.
Then paint the tealights white, fill the glasses with the moss and put the tea lights in. You are actually ready, because now you only have to distribute the lanterns and the other decorations on the wooden board. Advent wreath make it yourself made of wood and DIY candles
How about if you not only design advent wreaths yourself, but also make the candles yourself. A particularly simple variant, in which children can also easily help, is to use my honeycombs for this purpose. For candles and wreath you need:
- Round wooden board
- 4 candle versions for table candles
- 1 pine branch
- Hot glue
- Beeswachs set from the business or directly from the beekeeper (honeycomb and wick)
- Optionally decorative elements
Instructions for the candles
Start first with the production of the candles. You will be amazed at how easy this task is. All you have to do is to put the honeycomb plate in front of you, cut off a piece of wick that is a little longer than the plate and then put it at the beginning of the honeycomb. Now just roll the wick. The beeswax becomes softer during work by the warmth of the hands. Make sure that the candles don't get too thick so that they fit into the frames.
Modern wreaths
Then make the Advent wreath. To do this, only glue the candle versions on the round wooden board. It is up to you whether you design a square pattern as in the example or prefer to fix the versions in a straight line. Now you can add any sticker or paint patterns yourself with a golden color.
Of course, all other Christmas decorations are also allowed. Only one thing should not be missing and that is the fir branch! You can glue this or just put it on the board. You can also use finished table candles instead ofTo make candles yourself.
Romantic wreaths - idea with poinsettia
This advent wreath is not an easy wreath. The special thing about him is that the Christmas stars are still alive and are planted in the wreath. So it is a ring -shaped flowerpot, so to speak. If you want to make this original wreath yourself, get the following things:
- Two large and three small straw wreaths, each with the same diameter
- Package
- cardboard
- Madness
- Potting
- 6 small Christmas stars in any colors
- Blumendraht
- Spruce or other cones
- Moos
- Tables
- Any decorations (e.g. wooden stars)
- Hot glue
With the hot glue, first glue the two big wreaths together and then the three little ones. In this way, both wreaths receive the same height. Now there is a somewhat more time -consuming task for you and that is to wrap both wreaths with the parcel cut. At certain intervals you can add a blob on the underside to add hot glue from time to time so that the cord cannot slip.
Now take the cardboard and first put the big wreath on it and then the smaller one in the middle. Transfer the outer edge of the large and the inside of the small wreath with a pencil to the cardboard and cut out the ring obtained. Then glue this on the wreaths. Now turn the wreath over and cover the cavity with the film.
Now fill this cavity with film with soil and plants at even intervals. Fill out the gaps between the plants with soil and cover them with the moss. With the help of wire or hot glue you can now fix the cones and possibly other decorations on the advent wreath. Put the candles into the earth or stick with plenty of glue on the wreath.

Wreaths as a Christmas decoration
Take the cardboard and draw a circle with a diameter of 20 cm on it. For this you can use a circle or a bowl with this diameter. Use the same center to then draw a second circle with a diameter of 15 cm. Cut out this ring and then start covering it with hay. For this they wrap the wire for hay and cardboard. Do this first with one side and then with the other.
If the wreath is completely covered, cut off stalks with the scissors. With the hot glue you then attach the candle holders or versions to any places. You can then attach the berries and other decorations. They are usually offered in the form of plugs and can simply be put in the wreath.
Now you can, if you want,Design pine cones. Paint them with gold or silver color or decorate them with artificial snow. As soon as the colors have dried, you can attach them to the advent wreath. Start with the larger specimens and glue them to the outer edge of the wreath. They fix the little ones on the inside. Then you can gradually cover the remaining freedom with the pine cones. You can fill out any gaps with additional decorations.
Design individual candles instead of wreath - advent wreath
Do not want to make an Advent wreath in the actual sense this year, but a modern and alternative way, is this puristic idea in the Scandinavian style just right for you. You need:
- 4 table candles (or LED candles) and suitable candle versions
- 4 white bowls
- 8 small pine cones
- Spruce branches or other branches
- Glitzer
- Plug -in foam
- Moos
- Artificial snow
- Gel glue Clear Multi or other suitable glue
- Optionally further decorative elements such as berries
Gradually cut the pine cones with the glue and sprinkle them with glitter. Then put them aside to dry. Then cut the plug foam for each bowl. This should take about half of each bowl. Place the candles in the candle holders and distribute a little artificial snow on the moss. Finally, place the pine cones on the moss and decorate with branches, berries or other decorations as desired.
A notice:If you want to use artificial moss, you don't need to soak the plug foam with water. You can then also use an alternative filling material for the bowls (e.g. styrofoam or foam).
Christmas decorative ideas - tinker hanging wreath
A hanging wreath is also more unusual. And if you are already there, you can use the idea for a gift and design several such advent wreaths yourself. Certainly you are well received! You need that:
- Hall ornament from brass (metal ring)
- Leather band
- artificial berries
- Pine branches
- Leather paper in brown and beige
- 4 LED candles or real candles
- 4 candle versions (only necessary for real candles)
- Hot glue
- Aluminum wire in a golden color
Start cutting a piece of wire with a length of 50 cm and then gradually to wrap the versions for the candles in a spiral to get candle holders. Then insert the candles with versions in the ring and fix them with hot glue. Then tie leather cord in four places for hanging. You should have the same distance to each other so that the Advent wreath later hangs. Tie all four ligaments together.
Then cut out 8 to 10 leaves from the leather paper, which are about 7 cm long and 2 cm wide at the widest point. Then put fir green in the metal ring. Then stick the berries, leather leaves and any other decorations and hang up your beautiful decoration. A nice idea is, for example, the trailer with the saying “Merry Christmas”, which is also hung on the Advent wreath.
